Got my flu shot today and still not sure if I should go to the gym and lift, or if I should go with cardio, running and rowing or just swim or just take the night off. The injection spot is a bit sore but I feel OK so far.
Words or wisdom or experiance anyone?icon_cool.gif

Just had my flu shot last Friday, went into the gym a couple hours later and did my cardio and off-day lifting, my arm was a little sore the next day, but luckily I take weekends off. Now my other arm where I had a Tetanus booster hurt like a M*F*r all weekend.

I got mine yesterday in the early afternoon and in the early evening, worked out (chest and shoulders) with no ill effects. It was a little sore to begin with but didn't have any affect on my lifting.

    Your mileage may vary.

Not a good idea to workout and sweat on the sameday that you have a flu shot

The way the flu shot and most other vaccines as well is by setting up your body's immune response to a specific antigen ... namely the specific flu that's going around this year
The vaccine is usually an attenuated virus ... usually parts of it that the body can identify when and if the real virus comes in cantact with you later

When you're vaccinated the body will set up this immune response
but if you workout right after this response will make you feel weak and lethargic

better give it a rest for the day
