    is not Disneyland . . . sorry.

Just got back from Cedar Point a few days ago and I have to say, with GateKeeper (their 16th roller coaster) finally open it is the greatest place ever for roller coaster lovers!!! If anyone of you is visiting Ohio you need to go to Cedar Point, it makes up for our horrible winters. lol

HA! Isn't that the most annoying announcement you have ever heard? Several years ago, us locals bitched to the Aviation Authority about the announcement as it was so tourist-oriented and you know---people actually live, work and pay taxes in Orlando and Central Florida.

So they changed it to something like "If you are here on vacation or call Central Florida home, we welcome you..."

I knew this wasn't going to be about Disneyland but I was a little surprised it wasn't about my bed.

I went to Akron in college for a Winter Guard International competition. We placed well in the finals. It was a good memory.

I've flown through, and been to Cincinnati for a business trip. Nice airport. Gorgeous architecture, great chili, and some kind of hot, delicious mess called a "Grinder". I made money and had some tasty (but not necessarily healthy) food. It was a good memory.

I recently flew through Cleveland on the way back from Toronto. I stayed airside.

Because I love roller coasters, I would make a special trip to Cedar Point. If all went well, the weather was good, the lines were short, and nobody died from a mechanical failure and subsequent horrible fall from the Top Thrill Dragster, it could be a "happy" memory.

"Happiest Place on Earth"? In Ohio, it is my hope for some people they find this to be their truth. For me and from my experiences, ANY place in Ohio does not pop up on my radar as anywhere near that designation. For the record, Florida (where I was born and lived for nearly 40 years) is a mixed bag.

What I've learned is that the "Happiest Place on Earth" must be wherever I am at a particular moment. Because if I cannot find happiness in the moment, then nowhere on Earth will be a happy place. "Wherever you go, there you are."
