Not to be an attention seeker.... but does this fit right?

So some friends are talking about going to Ptown and it would be my first visit so I got all "when in Rome" and decided to get a speedo. My body is a little out of the ordinary maybe in that I am about 6 feet tall but I generally wear a 29 waist. So I got size small. It arrived and it seems of good quality and isn't tight around the waist at all, but I feel like the suit is a bit skimpy compared to the advert and I get a little self conscious about my ass falling out the back a bit haha. I'm not a fashion expert so I was wondering if someone who knows more than I could tell me if I should swap this for a size medium?

There should be pics here... sorry for the attention whoring. I don't have any shopping buddies for something like this haha.

So the red one I am stuck with either way. The question I have is: should I size up the black/white one? The waist is fine on both but I feel like the seat is a bit small on the black/white one and a bit big on the red one.... speedo shopping is hard!

Yeah, they look a little small. But 29" waist is typically supposed to be "Small" size. So maybe it's supposed to be that way?

If something isn't tight, you don't size up. That'd just make it looser...
It looks like it fits fine.

If it doesn't feel right, then return them if you can. Otherwise, you'll be all self conscious about it while you're walking around.

    Actually..Lycra is slightly unstable..
How it fits now might not be the case later..

Lycra is part refined rubber ..Heat , humidity and water (warm) will loosen the fibers in the fabric..and depending on the quality of the weave.. it might shrink after washing and drying..till you put them on again..and warm them up..

(don't ask how i know this)

    >>The fit you have is Perfect!!

Cold water or hand wash.. lowest heat setting on your dryer!!

Don't put it in the dryer ... It will stretch ... Just let it air dry ... Oh and it is definitely working for me icon_twisted.gif

Cute!.... I'd probably go with a medium though. It just looks like you're all taped down in the small.

I see no issues with the fit. Looks fine to me. Go for it.

I think a medium would be droppy in the seat, especially when wet.

No that is how speedos are supposed to fit. Everyone has a little crack showing in a speedo. Keep in mind too that when it gets wet it is going to expand so unless you are just going to wear it dry I would stick to the tighter fitting one. No one likes a saggy wet swimsuit bottom.

For what it's worth, I think it looks fine, but if you don't love it, find something you do, or find something that you feel more confident in. I think it's your confidence level that determines it this time.

awww thanks. I've been workin on my legs cause they are kinda long and super skinny.

I appreciate the replies. I like the swimsuit. It's got a mesh outside that you can't see and the black white thing is kind of sporty and retro, but I bought a couple things from this designer and the sizing seemed a bit inconsistent (had to go down a size on a pair of shorts etc. so I was a bit surprised when this fit was more, uh, snug haha.

I have a while to sit with this before i have to return it or resize it, and I actually got a great deal on ebay with another bikini from the same make(andrew christian) that is size medium so I guess I can gauge what their "medium" wears like and decide for sure at that point what I want to do with this one. I appreciate the feedback!

Because our sizes have "largened" in recent years, everybody has their own sizing. Some are still true to real sizes, others have gotten smaller or larger.

Try being a medium/large. Some things I can get in Medium, others are Larges. Sometimes they're Extra Larges. It's a fuckin' pain.

I have the same problem with Andrew Christian. I bought a very similar suit 2 years ago in a medium which by their measurements should have been a little big and had the same fit issues.

It definitely looks great but its all how you wear it, if you're feeling a little self conscious then size up to a medium, there wont be much difference in the waist.

Within the last year I have bought underwear that fits me that is labelled everything from small to large. I wish an inch really was an inch everywhere.

If you get there and decide you hate the suit there are some great shops on Commercial Street in Ptown.
