Ha anyone seen the new Vonage commercial. I found it very curious, because they appear to be targeting homeless people, but where are homeless people going to see the commercial? That and the corporate guy is cute. icon_biggrin.gif

Isn't welfare paying for basic phone service for the indigent?

Maybe there's a TV at the shelter.

I think I saw a medicare or medicaid related advertisement on the ability to get a free cell phone. Not sure about welfare though. Is welfare even used anymore? I thought it went by some other name like social relief or assistance or something like that.

I think "Prophetic Homeless Man" is an archetype. Not sure if I used the word archetype correctly.

Anyway, I don't think they're targeting homeless people, I think it's just a satire on homeless people who preach to the street. And how being generous is such a "crazy" idea.

    1. It's Vonage, not VonTage.

    2. Some work initiatives for the homeless & destitute issue them cell phones, so they don't miss job offers, and have a phone number to put on applications, without which they might be disqualified by screeners.

    3. I'm not sure how the Vonage system could work with homeless people, who presumably lack regular Internet & computer access.

    4. The main character puzzles me, since he doesn't seem to represent a typical Vonage user.
