    Talk about duplicity....

As President Obama and his family continue their tour of Africa, the White House put out a Fact Sheet entitled "U.S. Support for Strengthening Democratic Institutions, Rule of Law, and Human Rights in Sub-Saharan Africa." One of the first items highlighted by the White House is a $53 million program in Kenya that helps young people "obtain National identification cards, a prerequisite to voter registration."

Uh, SB, the voter ID is ALREADY a requirement per the Kenyan gov't.
Obama wants to assist people who don't have such ID.

Nice attempt to put the cart before the horse, though. Btw, cart before horse doesn't work and makes the person attempting it appear rather ridiculous.

I see the reasoning skills of you two have remained the same during my absence.

Entertain just the possibility that Obama could have used his visit and influence to lobby AGAINST the prerequisite. Requiring citizens to have a voter ID card is sooooo abhorrent, why would Obama NOT speak out against such an evil practice?

But, to quote our good mutual friend Kolonel KooKoo - you aren't even American, so STFU and stop commenting on what OUR President says and does.

It's worth pointing out that the president could be consistent and do the same here.

...except that you never left. icon_lol.gif

..and you still don't get that Obama is not president in that country, so all he can do is help those without a vote get whatever it is that gov't is demanding so they can.

    Good grief. icon_lol.gif

PS your last line tells me I scored a bullseye, and you don't like that, no siree not one bit.

It's also worth pointing out that as these US laws about ID are happening on a State level, that the States in question should be providing pic election ID for those who can't get one due to cost.

At least there remains a (very tiny) minority on here who are capable of logical, non-hysterical thought. Thanks for the post.

As for the rest of you... If Obama had visited Nazi Germany, would he have "gone with the flow" in his respect for the "laws of the land?"

Get it liberal hens? If Obama is so against voter ID here in the USA, he could have used this moment in the spotlight on his Africa trip to advance his strong views on this matter and explain how damaging voter ID requirements are to a healthy democracy. Instead... he embraces it!

As Art Lunatic says to foreigners who dare comment on USA issues: STFU

And as for me "never having left" - apparently I've struck such fear in you and some others here that you've been imagining I've been posting here the past few months. Nope, sorry, I haven't.

Isn't everyone required to have personal identification? I'm sorry if there's a fee involved.

Actually, I just found out that a State requiring voter ID is also required to provide it, free of charge if necessary.

That's fine, as long as every legal American citizen voter has legitimate identification and only gets their ONE vote on election day.

I am so glad that stupid birther stuff is over. I found it quite insulting.
