I am an atheist, but lately I feel there should be a heaven and a hell to equalize the injustices that I see here on earth.

Personally I find this world almost completely evil with few who don't deserve a car driving through a puddle over them. Only a small minority actually give a shit and want to make the world a better place for others besides themselves.

So many bad people get away with so much and so many bad things happen to good people.

I like to believe that there in no hell but there is a heaven,
and that all the bad people in this world simply cease to exist, the very idea that they are existing, even in hell, is too scary for me, even if they are burning in the devil's stew, they are still existing.

On the other end I like to believe that the good people get to be apart of the cosmic cycle of life and all it's beauty forever.

    Thoughts?

Sounds like a lot of work. How about this: instead of creating a whole other world, never mind an entire cosmos, how about working towards fixing what you find here and see how that makes you feel. Then revisit the question and see if you understand it differently.

Ding ding ding! You've discovered why humans first invented religion. Congratulations!

In all seriousness, I believe that what we've got is what we've got. No party upstairs or downstairs. Though it would be neat if our energy/life/spirit/souls/whatever are somehow connected to the ever-growing dark matter and dark energy that makes up majority of the universe.

Most of existence runs in cycles, so if we had these soul thingys, it would make the most sense if they decompose and get reused like our bodies do. Some religions call it multiple lives, though why any aspect of our past lives would carry into a subsequent life doesn't make much sense. I don't think my cells "remember" what it was like to be part of a tree, dinosaur, or crumbling mountaintop. But to be honest, I've never asked.

Man has imagined all sorts of images of hell and heaven

And then there is the belief that we come back over and over until we can reach a point where we can break free and enter nirvana ... perhaps this earth is hell and until we can reach the point of a higher being we can't move on.

Can we all just listen to Antijock? Here seriously makes the most sense on here and other threads, yet I see a lot of people just kinda brush him by.

To add onto what he said - let's make a better world here, now. :-)

I am starting way too many threads and really want to start another one, but I think I will just Hijack this thread, it's a small question.

I am very sensitive to cold weather.

Living in Ireland is very harsh on my health and I loose weight and have poor circulation and find my winters to be almost unbearable.

I wanna ask you guys, does weight training and body/muscle building help you withstand cold climates?

If I continue to work out continuous and put on muscle will I find the winter and cold, wet, windy weather easier to bare?

    What?

Thats a good question, I would presume a harder body would have better circulation and endurance of all kinds.
