    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retrograde_ejaculation

those of us who are concerned with low or no ejaculate volume when we cum or dry orgasms, whether caused by low-T or not which I thought could be the problem, here is a medical issue that I never thought of before

is it possible that doing kegel exercises to strengthen your PC muscles (for a stronger ejaculate) can make the bladder sphincter not function properly? the test for this would be a urinalysis right after ejaculating to see if any semen is in the urine.

could having anal sex or using a dildo damage the bladder sphincter since this is directly in line, internal/external surrounding the prostate gland? I am going to get this test to see if I have a retrograde condition, my volume of semen has dropped off dramatically in recent months.

In the human male reproductive system, retrograde ejaculation occurs when semen, which would normally be ejaculated via the urethra, is redirected to the urinary bladder. Normally, the sphincter of the bladder contracts before ejaculation forcing the semen to exit via the urethra, the path of least pressure. When the bladder sphincter does not function properly, retrograde ejaculation may occur

Actually it's not always obvious on sight, but can show in microscopic studies of the urine. Retrograde ejaculation is sometimes split, with some semen being ejaculated, and some being directed into the bladder, where it breaks down in the urine.

I had this condition prior to my prostate cancer, due to surgical operations on the bladder sphincter. (I was having urine blockage, the opposite of incontinence, due to nerve damage from spinal injuries and disc degeneration that prevented the sphincter from opening normally, an effect similar to an enlarged prostate, as in BPH)

I heard about this on KROQ's Loveline. I think that the host, Mike, said something about having that problem when he took an anti-depressant.

I started having frequent urges to pee. I saw a urologist that said my prostate was not enlarged, so I had a biopsy to check for cancer. I did this awake, unless you really like pain, I wouldn't suggest it. Wasn't told I would be cuming blood for a week afterwards.Surprise!! Then told the next step was Laser Surgery. Started feeling better after a couple weeks, then started with blood when trying to pee. It healed and was left with retro-grade ejaculation. First urologist told me that the muscle at the neck of the bladder was damaged during surgery, so it takes the path of least resistance and goes into the bladder. The second told me it was because the surgery makes the urethra larger behind where the laser was used, same path of least resistance. I was told they would not treat it, I didn't need to ejaculate and it was the same. I firmly told the last asshole it would be different if it were him having the problem. I get hard, and I get off. It usually shows up in the urine as being foamy on the surface. My biggest problem, at 57 and single is how do you meet someone and tell them you can have sex but don't ejaculate? Seems like the safest sex(although I would still use a condom). And a couple guys that have emailed me, I am honest and tell them about it, and never hear from them again. The only time they will treat it is if it is a fertility issue. Tried the sudaphed, but it takes a large dosage, and reacted with the Wellbutrin, so that is out. Have COPD, but none of the meds I take have ever given me a problem sexually. The last time I had sex before surgery, a friend was giving me a prostate massage and stroking me, I shot a couple feet straight up. Now I haven't came in 4 yrs. Life is starting to suck really bad!

Forgot, Had testosterone levels checked, the range is 200's to mid 800'. Mine was 997, so that is not the problem.

Watching this thread with interest. If my oral meds didn't work to shrink my prostate I thought I'd have to have surgery, which had a 30% chance of resulting in retrograde ejaculation, which I'd never heard of (sounded like an astrological term). I really hated the idea because for some reason over the past few years (coinciding with my getting muscular) my ejaculate pressure and volume has gone way, way up, so much so in fact that I'm sometimes possessed by a biological imperative to impregnate everything in sight. That feeling of vitality would be a shame to lose.

Sorry to revive an old thread... But is there any new info on this subject? Any possible "natural" treatment? Seems a shame that most doctors will only treat it if it concerns fertility, not realizing that it can really affect a man's sexual confidence regardless.
