  Am I the only one who didn't hear about this?!?! I feel like this is huge news, they were a massive organization that spanned the globe.

  Yes, and while I'm glad that they have shut down, I'm with those who cannot accept their apology. Too many fine young men have been driven to kill themselves, or at least to hate themselves, by this awful organization.

  Yeah, actually there was a thread on here about it. I agree, these people cannot be forgiven for all the harm they have done to helpless kids. Driven wedges between kids and parents, made so many so unhappy and I expect, caused more than a few to commit suicide. Their harm still flows through so many conservative christian churches that the evil they did just keeps on producing evil. So much for religion. The source of most evil in this world. The most virulent thread still runs through Africa where their witch hunt was embraced (with the help of certain Republican Congressmen). I hope Obama's speaking out on the subject while on this trip shifts some momentum.

  I'm a believer in forgiving but not forgetting. That's how the world heals and moves past things, but I don't think there is anything that they could ever do to make up for the misery and pain caused to so many people.
