Too bad; the Dems needed 60 seats in the Senate.

Yep Democratic Challenger Jim Esch lost in my district here in Nebraska, too. A real bummer!

He's about 400 votes behind. . . so there will be a recount.

He hasn't lost yet. It goes to automatic recount since it is so close. There is fights going in 4 states still. In Oregon they are still counting massive amounts of ballots so it will not be know if Gordon Smith or Jeff Merkley will be going. If Smith wins, the democrats can't make 60, they need Merkley and it is very close here at this point.

Franken was not favored in much of the polling to win the seat anyway. I'm actually surprised it was this close.

The Senate race in Alaska to me is the most surprising. Stevens appears to have won by about 4000 votes. I guess we shouldn't have expected all that much from the land of the Ice Queen.

They are doing a recount for that race

... and Yeah... What the Hell is it with those people up in Alaska?

First they give us Palin and then they go and vote for an old Geezer with 7 Felony counts on his record?

In thier minds being a felon isnt as bad as being a Democrat.
