Do you procrastinate?

I have low confidence, behavioural problems, low self control etc.

    stemmed from poor upbringing.

I try not to put off what I am meant to do, but I hate leaving my comfort zone, especially when it comes to the internet, I hate looking for jobs online, responding to emails, the internet hurts me, you can get an email rejection of an application without any tact or support, just a stabbing image thrown up on the screen to devastate you.

In real life, I avoid things that are uncomfortable and hard and always leave the house at the very last minute, which makes me late a lot.

Any of you have procrastination problems?

Procrastination can be an expression of self sabotage rather than laziness. Explore why you might fear success or acceptance. There are lots of book about the subject and a chapter in the Velvet Rage that explores why some gay men might engage in it.

I guess I don't think I will succeed, so I just delay the pain of confirmed failure, it's better to not know whether the outcome is bad than to have it confirmed.

So, What happens if you do something and you succeed? Or What happens when you fail?

I procrastinate a lot. Sometimes the thought of how great the end result will be is enough to satiate the urge and I don't end up following through. "I'm already there" syndrome is what I call it.

My policy is "never put off until tomorrow what you can put off until next week."
I'm a terrible procrastinator and it's caused me all sorts of difficulties.

I love procrastinating; I get such a feeling of accomplishment when I finally do something that I should have done long ago. Delayed satisfaction.

Some things very much... others not at all. Depends on how much I'm dreading doing something icon_smile.gif
