I voted. I used to live in Hawai'i and used to subscribe to this publication, so I think I'm entitled. icon_biggrin.gif

I have had family there since the 1800's, way before it even became a State, and still have family there...so I can to. icon_wink.gif

Of course not. Gays are destroying the sanctity of marriage -- everybody knows that.

It's even worse than that. Necrophiliacs would use it to try and endorse their marriages.

And let's not forgot the people who are going to start marrying their dogs due to the fags -- which must be true because the "brilliant" Supreme Court justice Antonin Scalia said so.

Fags must be stopped. I say no fag marriage in Hawaii. My 2 cents.

We do live there (and in NJ, where Governor Dead-to-us has proclaimed he'll never sign it into law), and we just voted. The poll results afterward said 69% for. How appropriate is that? icon_lol.gif

Nope, it's a runner up, the best state by far would have to go to Massachusetts.

Hawaii should have legalized it a long time ago. They had the chance this past winter but they didn't, even though their legislature is filled with progressives and the majority of the state approves of equality.

They also do not have the hurdle of a constitutional ban, but only a ban that is a statute, something much easier to overcome.

I was kind of surprised they hadn't already legalized it. I'm sure it will happen eventually.

Governor Dead-to-us has vowed to never sign it. Glad we'll be back in HI and disinclined to scramble fighters over Trenton!

Gay marriage is not guaranteed an easy sailing into law in either New Jersey or in Illinois. There are a number of lawmakers from the inner cities that are known as the "keep your sin off my skin" crowd in both states. I don't know the current situation in Hawaii. But there is considerable opposition in both Illinois and New Jersey from religiously conservative African Americans.

I think New Jersey might be more of a sure thing than Illinois. Apparently there's a lot of support for it about 62% percent support it. And then there's always the courts.
