And who would know better than Keith Olbermann?

When Olbermann responded to a tweet about the network's ratings performance, another Twitter user asked if he was criticizing Maddow.

Olbermann responded, "It's about the collapse of that network. I don't know anything about her any more; she hasn't bothered to speak to me since I left."

BTW... this has got to be one of the most hideous pictures of Rachel Maddow I have ever seen:

Is your argument that one should reverse discriminate towards lesbians particularly if you are a gay man?

I think a big part of the collapse is that awful Chris Hayes they've got on at 5pm now.

At 5pm MSNBC has Chris Matthews who is even worse than their morning host, Joe Scarborough.

Both are pretty famous for asking 4-minute long questions, then allowing their guest to respond for 7 seconds before interrupting with their own brilliant insights.

Chris Hayes is on at 8pm and in my opinion has the most worthwhile discussion forum anywhere. He freely calls himself a liberal but he's clearly not afraid to explore the merits of a conservative guest's point of view. The conservatives he presents are the most articulate to be found, including Avik Roy and Ramesh Ponnuru.

    The opposite actually.

The opposite would be to applaud Chef for treating a lesbian like anyone else.

You're so east-coast centric! On the west coast, Chris Hayes comes on at 5pm. They run Chris Matthews sometime in the afternoon - I think it's at 4pm. Rachel Maddow comes on at 6pm.

I've only seen Joe Scarborough if I've been working late at night and get home at like 4 or 5 in the morning.

Chris Matthews is kind of funny - I know what you mean about those questions he asks. I've also seen him spit at the guests!

And for those of you so upset that I pointed out that the picture of Rachel Maddow was hideous, geez, I didn't take the picture! So here's something to calm you all down!

Nielsen Ratings are hardly accurate. Then again even if it was accurate I wouldn't be one of the viewers.

    What’s wrong with MSNBC?
I'm not harping on "Morning Joe" because it defines everything wrong with contemporary politics, though it does...
    BY ALEX PAREENE

    http://www.salon.com/2013/05/27/whats_wrong_with_msnbc/

I think this one line says it all:

" MSNBC’s target audience may just be much less interested in listening to people talk about politics in spring 2013 than they were during an election year."

Fox has a definite advantage in having a much older audience who by their nature are not continually seeking fresh sources of information.

Except if you look at the decline it goes further back than last year.

That is why Fox is a distant 7th when it comes to online news media behind CNN, free-falling MSNBC and even the NY Times.

Given that none of them make much when it comes to online media, that's not a particularly useful metric though maybe something akin to a "participation" prize. There are libertarian and conservative sites that do far better than these traditional outlets online - but again, they don't make a fraction of the money.

And when it comes to audience:
    2_Cable_CNN-Bounced-Back-in-Prime-Time.p

That being said, I think that there's a good opening for more organized news media on the right/libertarian. I've tried watching Fox and it's annoying. Then again, I'd probably also stick to getting my news online.

No, you(and a few other members) have managed to exceed the liberals many times.
And Im sure the UPS joke is an attack on her physical apperance and demeanor as a lesbian.

This is the second time on this thread a lesbian's physical appearence has been mocked instead of her personal philosophy.
Even among the conservatives, a gay man has to be catty and shallow. +1 @ breaking stereotypes.

Try arguing her facts if you want to be taken seriously.

"No, you(and a few other members) have managed to exceed the liberals many times."

Not even close. Maybe it's just a matter of you agreeing with the vitriolic left?

"This is the second time on this thread a lesbian's physical appearence has been mocked instead of her personal "

Now now... some of you folks would never dream of doing similar to a conservative would you?

"if you want to be taken seriously"

    Let's hope not.

No, I don't agree with the vitriolic left. Unlike me, most members like you have a huge issue with projection.

Just being a member of RJ gives me a 90% chance of being correct

Now now... some of you folks would never dream of doing similar to a conservative would you?

I wouldn't and I never have. Just because you like to do something like that doesn't mean I do.

Sorry, I didn't mean you specifically as a big ole meanie, but you read the posts here so I hunch you know of what I speak.

    Let's hope not.

So you are here to troll? Our issues as gay men, our country's economy, the tribalism in the world at large; its all a joke to you? You should try getting a life if you find something like this entertaining.

I have a relatively good life outside of RJ. Give it a try, you might like it. So yes, RJ is mostly for the lulz.

I don't see anything relating to the politics thread being lulzy. I hope you can still laugh when Obamacare is implemented.

You know ... we can go all day on this back and forth, but we're gonna run out of colors. So let's clear this up .... I'm a right wing troll. Happy now?

I don't find making fun of conservatism, republicanism or anything right-wing funny though. If I wanted that insincere brand of humor, Id watch Colbert. This was designed to share ideas as the Arts/Entertain section or even the Group Activities section is better designed for troll threads.

And AGAIN, I didn't say or mean YOU specifically. You're actually reasonable as far I can remember. I think I also put some measure of effort in toning down the rhetoric, name calling, ad hominem attacks, etc.

You read plenty of posts here, correct? If so then you know well what I'm talking about. When I see you similarly admonish some of what I presume are your left wing RJ buddies with their hate filled, hysterical vitriolic rants, post after post, then you'll have some credibility with me. Until then, you're just wasting your time with me on what could be a nice day off if it would stop raining.
