    Hey guys,

I've been doing BJJ for about a year now and just had my first serious injury. I got caught in an ankle lock no gi, rolled the wrong way, pop went my knee, couldn't walk for a week. Anyways, one month later I got the clear from the doctor to spar again but to go easy.

I made it a point to roll first with the guy who I was sparring with to make sure there was no bad blood or any fear of rolling with him. All things are good between us but I have this nugget of fear in my gut that I'm going to get hurt like that again and it killed my game. I was tapping just due to fear that if my arm-bar counter slipped, I'd be out for a month again.

It was my first day back on the mat sparring so hopefully its something that will fade as long as I keep getting on the mat but I was wondering how everyone else deals or dealt with it.

    Thanks!

Limber up move and stretch your arm every time at least a few minutes before. And tell your sparring partner about your injury.
Best wishes and hope you heal even better than before!
