The Catholic Church has said it will challenge the proposed civil partnership legislation in the Irish Courts. Just like the Church helped fund opposition to such legislation in California.

It is time for LGBT people everywhere to realise that the Catholic Church will stop at nothing to prevent us having equal rights. It doesn't matter if you never want to marry you should have the same right as everyone else. This is not a morality or religious issue it is a human rights issue.

The Catholic Church says the proposed legislation is anti-family. Don't tell me I'm anti-family...I am a son, a brother, an uncle, a cousin and part of a great family. I didn't just land from Mars!

To all you practising catholic LGBTs you are in an abusive relationship get out!!!

Sorry for rant and not having proper link to news item.

I think I have more influence from within icon_smile.gif

One way or another it will happen here. Yeah, the Catholic Church will have to be pulled kicking and screaming.

What you said about the family was very well put. I am most definitely a family man.

The Catholic Church will win in Ireland. This is a non-issue.

MikePhilPerez I honestly can't see how you can say 'you have more influence from within'. This Church doesn't want you, it promotes bigotry and homophobia. They are now proposing screening to prevent gay men from even becoming priests.

However if you think that is the best way for you I hope you can promote change from within.

If Rosa Parks had thought what was happening around her was a 'non issue', would Obama be where he is today?
