I think it varies from person to person. For me, I think I'm only truly over a guy when I'm dating another; otherwise I continue to think about him when I'm alone or whatnot. Some guys, however, need a long break, and I'd agree because after being tied down you might want to get out a bit and have fun being single. I wouldn't say date a guy 2 weeks after a breakup, but 3-4 months after is a safe bet. Also, if it was a LTR that ended, it will obviously take more time to get over the person than something that lasted 4-5 months.

Regarding where to meet gays, think about how straight people meet. In normal settings, through mutual friends, bars, etc. One method may be better for you than another. I think the one that works best is meeting with guys who you have friends in common with, if he gets along with your friend, chances are he might get along with you icon_smile.gif Good luck, cheer up, and get out there!

Get out and just be friendly and talk to everyone. The social connections will form and pull you into the orbit of a nice guy. I think love is mostly chemical.
Messing around with a hot guy is the quickest way to erase and reset chemical memories. There are tons of gay meet -ups groups where you can meet fit guys. I prefer the outdoor activity ones the most.

OkCupid seems to be the best site orientated towards dating. The guys on it are much more relationship-orientated.

Ya, ya just gotta get out there. You won't be over a failed love until you find it again with a new love. But just start by having fun and try to not be a bore on your dates by talking about your last guy. You may need a date or three before you can pull that off. I think most any site is ok to cruise. There are good guys everywhere. My partner and I met for purely sexual lust and we've been together ever since the first date. Six years.

I just joined it. I will say there are a lot of guys in love with their dogs! So far not much luck on it for me.

If you are capable of living without dating then I say you're ready.

It's only when you hop from guy to guy, physically unable to ever not be dating that I'd be concerned.

I agree with the guys who recommended OK Cupid. The profile-building can be tedious, but the gene pool is a bit deeper than Grindr, etc.

Some guys work dog lover into their profile name and mention dogs in every other paragraph. To each their own but they are difficult to date since their world revolves around dogs. So it's a movie at their place since hey can't leave pooch alone for more than 4 hours . The dogs get realy anxious when you pound their master....lol. 6 out of 8 guys on there have been undisclosed POZ

I hear there's a lot of quality men, educated, sophisticated and funny who hang out on Grindr. Try that.
