Polarity in Same-Sex Relationships (Masculine/Feminine Energies)

    I've been wondering...

Those of you familiar with Anthony Robbins and, in general, couples' therapy may recognize the emphasis and significance of the interplay between masculine and feminine energies for passion and aliveness in a committed relationship. What thoughts have you gleaned from personal anecdotal experiences or professional ones that may speak on how this polarity plays out in same-sex relationships? How important is it to cultivate polarity?

Or more personally, who "wears the pants" in your relationship? What are those dynamics like? How do you do it? Who does the dishes? In what areas is one more masculine or feminine than other areas? How do you view those dynamics play out in your relationship(s)?

UPDATE: Perhaps the dishes questions is irrelevant. But in general, I'm referring to active/passive energies, who is the more emotional one? Who requires "more maintenance" so to speak? Who is more of the initiator?

"What thoughts have you gleaned from personal anecdotal experiences or professional ones that may speak on how this polarity plays out in same-sex relationships?"

I've seen this in some relationships between women and between men.

"How important is it to cultivate polarity?"

Well, my feeling is if it's not naturally occurring, why try to cultivate it?

"Or more personally, who "wears the pants" in your relationship?"

    We both do.

"What are those dynamics like? How do you do it? Who does the dishes? In what areas is one more masculine or feminine than other areas? How do you view those dynamics play out in your relationship(s)?"

We don't have those dynamics, we take turns with dishes; we don't consider or really think about parts of ourselves being either masculine or feminine (like the dishes thing).
