    I could post all day here and have to be selective.
    You seem like a snob to me and I'd rather converse with friendly people.
    If I'm wrong, I apologize.

    I am one of those people where awkwardness just follows me like a shadow.
    If I start trying to converse in a group it's not long before silence follows and it's not like I talk about anything strange or answer or ask inappropriate questions. At least I don't think I do.

    I don't know what it is, but everyone kind of just stops talking and I freak out and then it the awkward silence ensues.

    Apart from that I am also a natural (but not on purpose) thread killer.
    I've probably killed this thread too.
    Sorry lol.

    It happens to all of us.

    At least you're hot! That helps.

    Sorry lol.

    I can relate to that.
    The biggest enigma of my life is that I've never made anyone laugh.
    People will chuckle when I talk to them - and people tell me I'm funny all the time - but I don't know what a friend's laughter sounds like until I hear him with someone else. It's very saddening for me. I don't get it.

    Haha thanks, I guess it's better than thinking it's because I'm repulsive.

    The thing is though I don't talk about anything particularly intellectual, deep or controversial.
    I just start my conversation very basic where I just ask them general questions about themselves since I know that people like it when you talk about them.

    Then more often then not it's not really reciprocated back so I just assume they aren't interested in talking to me which is fine it doesn't bother me. So I stop asking questions so that they don't think I'm prying and so they also don't feel obligated to answer in case they're bored but being polite.

    Maybe I'm just bad at conversing online because I generally have a lot of nice conversations with people I meet in real life. Albeit generally they are much older than I am thinking about it now. Not that I'm trying to toot my own horn or boast or anything but even today while I was at work someone complimented me on my conversational skills and told me to try running my own business.

    Sometimes even on here on RJ, I don't know if I've done some general unspoken social faux pas because whenever I've tried, everyone kind of just goes silent and then I feel super conscious and so I just feel out of place and stop altogether. Then the annoying thing is when I do that people automatically assume I'm just extremely shy. I can't win.

    Sorry for the long reply and mini rant.

    @Nerdmonastary..

    The problem is..we all know your'e incredibly hung.
    So till we get over it..

    You say : Clever, deep, avant-garde-ish sentences..

    We are thinking : It's gotta be about 10-13.. maybe 14..?

    Bottom line.. Monasteries are usually huge! icon_eek.gif

    LOL haha you are so funny icon_smile.gif
    Actually NerdMonastery is an anagram of my name so I'm not stating anything 'monasterial' (probably not even a word lol) about myself.

    Thanks for making me smile though haha I appreciate it!

    @JohnSpotter
    Same here mate don't worry.
    I think my humour is really just for me because most of the time it's only me who finds my jokes funny lol.
    Sad I know but it kind of makes sense because I never really say a joke because I think someone will find it funny, I say it because I think it's funny and then nobody laughs but me.

    What you need is a friend who finds anything funny.
    I have one friend who is like that and she is great to make jokes to because she finds anything funny.

    I think Joey has answered his own implied question by not responding to any posts or compliments here.
    I guess none of us were cool enough for him.

    I doubt you've fallen out of your chair but why is it funny? I'm not offended or anything - just curious.
