Charleston, SC, should be replaced with Hilton Head Island, SC.

Houston is too ugly to be number 17, clearly they aren't boasting their architectural superiority.

We are all discerning in some way, and I would say that most gay men are big time snobs, ha ha.

WHOA, wait just a minute! We're 8th? Other than the Academic hoi polloi I have encountered no snobbishness whatsoever here!

I'm laughing that Savannah made the list. "Midnight at the Garden of Good and Evil" and Paula Deen's restaurant are laughable qualifications to point your nose in the air.

Imagine if europe was included in this list, only San francisco would be in the top 20.

Funny because I have family in San Francisco and they claim it to be a very friendly city out of the big urban areas in the US. (Perhaps they were saying that to convince my idea of moving to America to come stay with them).

Midnight in the Garden was written by a yankee who pretended to have access to the Savannah culture but really didn't have a clue. Paula Deen is a transplant from some hick town and no one in Savannah goes to that awful restaurant. The town is architecturally spectacular, the planned British grid of squares and parks is beautiful and friendly, great arts, great food. Good nightlife.

It was pointed out on a news story about this list that many of these cities, including San Francisco, also made the same site's list of America's friendliest cities. Maybe they're friendly snobs in these towns?

    I take exception to this.

    If I were to list:

    London, Kensington
    London, Chelsea
    London, Hampstead Heath
    London, Barnes
    London, Richmond
    Eton (Public school)
    Surrey,
    Royal Berkshire
    Hampshire
    Kent
    Buckinghamshire

Such areas would make Continental Europe look humble!
