Really enjoy a number of breeds, but beagles certainly rank (no big surprise there...lol)

    'nough said.

And as I've always said - there are but two paths to world peace. The first is global domination by the United States. The second is if every household in the world had a beagle icon_biggrin.gif

Akitas are my favorite breed. Probably the most ferociously loyal dog, super cuddly and very empathetic. At one point, due to the atomic bombs dropped in Japan, the breed bottlenecked at an alarming 30 purebreds remaining. Read up on the story of Hachiko the Akita if you ever want to tear up.

Close second is the Weimaraner. I've had the luck to have one as a companion before. Very mild mannered, and they rarely if ever bark.

Next would be beagles. My old neighbors used to have one and I don't think there's a breed with more personality. I don't know how to explain it, but they have an awareness of the world about them that some large breeds just don't seem to have.

Last is the Afghan hound. My current dog, Nestor, is one. A complete goofball and pretty much the softest thing on the planet.

Small dogs agree with my allergies more, and I like having a dog that can cuddle in my arms.

    Terriers are probably my fav.

Walter.....part Chow-Chow, part Shiba Inu. He needed a good place he could call "home" so I adopted him.

I've had 3 Chows now. They are amazing dogs - so protective. I feel like I have secret service around me sometimes. For instance, if I'm sitting down somewhere, inside or out - my chows usually place themselves between me and any possible entry point where an intruder can come from (like a door or gate). These dogs LIVE to protect me, it seems. When they aren't protecting, they seem to want to just be loved and rough housed a little. I know a lot of dogs are protectors, and that's great, but these Chows are very serious about it. They give the impression they'd give their lives for us.

I am in mourning for an American Bulldog. She was the sweetest, friendliest dog ever. My roommate's mother owned her and had her put down last week, probably for reasons having more to do with the owner than the dog.

Don't get American Bulldogs confused with English Bulldogs or pit bulls. They are such happy, loyal pups.

I will miss her and I really hurt for my roomie, who adored her.

We had border collies and shelties when I was younger. Great family dogs.

Pitt bulls are super friendly. And very loyal. But they don't curl up with you well. They're bony, icon_smile.gif
But for cute personality, my choice is the Cavalier Spaniel. Adorable!
