I actually preferred 'All American Boy' ... there is something about youth and discovery ... also, if you watch the video closely in 'All American Boy' he is sitting there the day after the party remembering what happened the day before and when they go swimming it is daylight, but when they get to the party, they are wet and it is night, so it leaves you with the idea that they had sex, but they are not letting on to everyone else what they did.

Eli's Young love talks of being young and gay and finding love for maybe a night and I don't get the feeling that the relationship continued on.

I agree, it was nice in this video to see gay themes and feel like you don't have to experience emotions through a "straight" lens but 'All American Boy' had a lot of subtle and relatable themes. I felt like 'All American Boy' was the story of a gay guy falling in love with his "straight" friend, the "straight" friend leading him on with possible sexual confusion on his part, that rush of finally taking the chance to steal the kiss, and the disappointment of rejection. I also felt that it implied they may have had sex, but the end was bittersweet in that the "straight" guy seemed to accept his friend and want to remain friends regardless of what they'd done. However, he was either straight or decided stay in the closet so the love was unrequited.

The was I saw the video is that the begining of the video is how the night finally ended. Take a look at the bottle of whiskey, it is only at the beginning of the video that the bottle is now half empty. In the rest of the video it is full. Also at the end of the video you see the blond talking to some girl, I believe it is the girl that is talking to Steve Grand in the begin of the video. And in the beginning of the video the guys gf is talking to him by the fire and they smile and she gets up and leaves and then he comes over to Steve and hugs him, which is when the video cuts over to the beginning of the day. So I'm inclined to believe there is or will be a relationship between them. It actually reminds me of my youth icon_smile.gif

This videos was pretty good and better than Steve's and Eli's song is way better. He has a way better vpice and more unique sounding. Less Abercrombie style and more realistic to me. Why his song has less views, I don't know? Maybe because Steve's song is dubbed country and it's not so people think it's special icon_rolleyes.gif

Time and time proves again that you don't have to be smart to be famous

Guys...they didn't have sex in "All American Boy."

Their clothes are wet because they were swimming and, immediately after the rejected kiss, presumably put their clothes back on while still wet.

And it's nighttime because they had to walk away the way back to the bonfire site. Recall that the girl that was with the two men in the beginning drove off, leave Steve and his friend stranded.

The entire message of "All American Boy" is about that painful introduction to heartache and unrequited love.

I know it's pretty easy and tempting to be a contrarian, especially when there's something with which you can side and is lesser known, but let's not demean something else that is great and of value in the process (i.e., Steve Grand's "All American Boy").

With all this being said, I did enjoy the video posted above.
