That is awesome! After 20 years, I'd imagine I'd feel married to someone too. I'm glad they could get married, and have their day. We should all be so lucky to find someone who will stick it out with us until the end, for better or worse -- now that is commitment.

    Get it? "Terminal"ly ill? Airports?

    I thought it was funny...

Seriously, though, I don't think I could ever do any of this. What a strong couple.

Tragic, yet beautiful. I'm glad that they had the chance to marry. Congratulations to these two!

If it's at all possible let them know that we really appreciate them sharing their story with us.

It's people like this that make me appreciate the importance of living life with a positive attitude.

Life is not always easy, but that doesn't mean we can't find ways to live it to it's fullest.

    Dear Metta,

Thanks again for this topic and link. Bill and I watched it again this morning together and yes, we cried deeply and cleanly for those men, and all of you.

It takes a lot, an extreme lot, for me to get truly angered, and when I get angry, truly angry, I get very calm.

So, I have emailed this link to our local Federal Conservative MP along with a letter. As well, I have just come from his constituency office here in town, where Bill drove me, to make sure they had received it.

Back in 2005 in March this MP, who is against marriage for gays, said this in his closing argument:

" In summation, I support the traditional definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman to the exclusion of all others. Bill C-38 is neither constitutionally required nor publically desired. It will negatively impact children, their parents and teachers. It will negatively impact religious institutions and faith leaders. It is bad public policy and it must be defeated."

I have asked him, now that marriage for gays has been here for 8 years + , for a list of all those that have been negatively impacted, hurt, or damaged by Bill and I and others being married, as by now the list must be enormous, right? icon_lol.gif

I have also asked him to look at the vid.

Thank you Metta, you're one of a kind and we both value you very highly; you never say anything bad about your detractors on here, and never retaliate when you are picked on. You are a classy man, and it's been a pleasure to make your acquaintance so far. You have truly touched the hearts of these meninlove, as have a great many others that deserve equality, such as the men in that vid.

    -Doug and Bill
