What criteria do you use to find a gym. I don't have one in the area that I work, live or anything in between. I will have to travel someplace else in the city. I don't know what to look for when I visit a gym. I desperately need to start an exercise program but don't know how to start.

    yellow pages dot cooooooommmmm

seriously look 'em up and go check them out. Also to start exercise, you don't really have to go to a gym. ride a bike, walk, etc.

    1. Decide roughly how much you want to spend

    2. Decide what kinds of equipment you require. If you don't know yet, book a session with a personal trainer and have him show you around. Visit a number of gyms and decide which suits your needs best.

    3. Decide how important the ambiance is to you. This includes how busy it gets, the changing room arrangements etc.

Between these three tools, you should be able to narrow it down.

Of course! Hehe :D Not many guys seem to fill that field out though unfortunately, I guess they're afraid of stalkers

Not without cause if that's your selection criterion, it would seem. I quite like a bit of being stalked

Haha, I guess that's true! I'm not so worried about being stalked to gym - I mean, there's plenty of weird enough people there already, what's one more?

Being stalked home again would be another thing I guess, but there's three security doors between me and the street so I think I'm ok!

think about what's important to you
...do you want convenience - proximity?
    machines vs free weights?
    pool?
    cardio classes...treadmills?
    crowds vs empty?
    hot men?
