About 40 years after .. it's still a question .. as disturbing as it sounds ..
the biggest history event .. we went to the moon .. as a symbol of man power and ability of crossing the limits ..

What do you think ?? there are enough reasons for the USA to fake the landing on the moon but also enough evidences to belive it actually happened..

Here are some videos , support and against .

look at this video which acclaims / prooves that it was FAKE ..

    or this short one:

and these ones acclaims / prooves that this historic event was TRUE

We didnt go to the moon.

    Elvis is my neighbor.

AIDS was genetically engineered by the Government (to kill all of us of course)

And the simpsons has been (will be) on the longest of any sitcom.

    One of these is true.

I remember watching this on TV. My greatest impression was how "ghostly" the images appeared. The transmission wasn't very clear and occasionally the astronauts appeared to be almost translucent.

I have also watched this "conspiracy" video concerning 9/11 bombing of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
That and along with the video above which I have just watched, seem to indicate that this "conspiracy" stuff is just hogwash.
As for the American flag set up on the moon, I do not know exactly what material it was made of, but it certainly did not flap about in the breeze once the astronauts had finished with it. On the other hand, if the material was a cloth, surely it would have drooped as it hanged from the staff, a result of lunar gravity, weak as it might be. Instead, it remained stiff as a board. I can only assume that the cloth was of a material stiff enough to defy lunar gravity.
As for the Earth seen from the window of the module, there was nothing convincing about it being fake.
The lunar landing in 1969 was real.

    All is refuted here:
    http://www.badastronomy.com/bad/tv/foxapollo.html

    Here is an excerpt:

Bad: When the astronauts are assembling the American flag, the flag waves. Kaysing says this must have been from an errant breeze on the set. A flag wouldn't wave in a vacuum.

    Good:
Of course a flag can wave in a vacuum. In the shot of the astronaut and the flag, the astronaut is rotating the pole on which the flag is mounted, trying to get it to stay up. The flag is mounted on one side on the pole, and along the top by another pole that sticks out to the side. In a vacuum or not, when you whip around the vertical pole, the flag will ``wave'', since it is attached at the top. The top will move first, then the cloth will follow along in a wave that moves down. This isn't air that is moving the flag, it's the cloth itself.

Real, as were the subsequent landings. July 20th, 1969 one of those dates I will always remember. Watched Walter Cronkite's live coverage.

    The moon landings were real.

The conspiracy theories are absolute bullshit.

    Trust me, I know. I'm a physicist.

The conspiracy theorists are sick people who are only looking for attention.

    Unfortunately, they got yours.

Cant believe people buy in to those stupid conspiracy theories, my goodness. Anyone with an ounce of science knowledge realises how idiotic their claims are within the first minute.

That we have to even defend or prove this in this day and age is appalling.

Then again: "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers."

Please, don't make me lose respect for you! This is not in question by any self-respecting scientist.

Correct. The flagpole was actually made like an inverted letter "L" to support the flag material from both top and side. This held the flag fully revealed, displaying the stars & stripes. I watched this live in 1969, and the unusual flagpole was explained by the TV announcers.

Without the top bar, the flag would have simply drooped down and not displayed the US flag's unique appearance. Lacking any wind to blow it open, the material would have hung there almost unrecognizable as the American flag. And so it was forcibly stretched open with the special flagpole.

You also correctly describe the motion of a thin sheet or fabric in a vacuum. This same effect can be observed in earth orbit, when reflective sheets have been deployed for various purposes.
