So I logged back on here today, and lo and behold ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFO, 'What I am Looking For' , 'Who I am' , ect. was simply not there, which bummed me out, because I have taken a great deal of time and energy to put all of that together ... not that I can't do it again, but I think it's strange how all of my writing vanished, and yet my pics, ect remained. I don't recall hitting ERASE.

Has this happened to anyone else here ?

The pics are mine, yes - but what really eggs me is that I expressed a lot of ideas and concerns that came from a very heart -felt place, and anyone who read my profile knows that. I find it rather suspect that all of that original work - in BOTH categories could be gone. I have looked over the options on the 'changing your profile' category, and could not find a single thing that could have erased everything in one fell - swoop. I'd have to have run 'delete' through everything, and I know I did not do that.
I have really valued my time here, and have met a lot of cool buds, but this irks me !
My ideas are more important to me than my pics.

I for one shall miss CalTrask's profile. It was one of the best written on here. Inspirational stuff.... he's a hot guy but he has a beautiful mind.

Write something new, CalTrask.... your old manifesto of fraternity, integrity and love was great!

I have forwarded this on to customer service to look into. Here at RealJock.com, we don't intentionally delete anyone's profile or data (unless it's in violation of our terms of use, which I'm sure yours wasn't).

It seems like it's likely a technical problem of some kind. I'm not sure if it can be recovered or what happened, but you'll hear back from someone after our tech guy looks into it.

Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience.

    Jeff

I can attest to the fact that caltrask2jimstark's profile was one of the most fully informative ones on RJ. I betting (and hoping) that a backup copy of the website's pages exists someplace, and the can restore it.

I think if you put a lot of work into your profile, you should back it up some way. Make copies of you text. Save it to disk.

Back when I used Internet Explorer, I could find info from old web pages in my cache. I don't know how to do that with Firefox.

Does anyone think they might have a copy of CT2JS's profile stored in their cache?

YES -YES ... I'm checking into my old files - I'm sure I have a back up - SOMEWHERE, but because I write bucket loads - It's going to take TIME ( I know I printed out old versions of it ) which unfortunately I am short on right now due to work, but hat statement I have added onto and revised several times over the past two years, and was very special to me.
What is scary is that recently I had a friend on Myspace who's wiriting was not deleted, but was lifted and used on someone else's profile. All of his personal ideas and information ! And to lure chicks !!!
    OK.
I am going to know that is not the case here. I kinda hate Myspace, but use it for my music and writing contacts. RJ is superior...

    Thanks Jeff for looking into.
If the work is missing I will simply write sometheing bigger and better.
Ideas are the most important thing in a world too short on them, and my imagination is ,I believe, my very best asset.

Also - thanks guys for your support. That somehow makes it better... makes the time and effort somehow valid.

Guess you never really value or miss something untill it's gone... I WANT MY WRITING BACK ...WHAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can view your cache in firefox by typing about:cache into the address bar. I was just about to suggest this. It might be useful for you to take a look Cal.

    Cal,

I'm going to restore you're profile from backup. It's going to take me a bit but it should be live by tomorrow morning (EST).

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

To be honest, I found your profile to be a bit boring. Maybe you would rewrite it and be a little less heartfelt.

    Your pix are nice though.

I had this message sent to me by Gaydar yesterday.

"We experienced a few technical problems when we rolled out Gaydar Japan - it seems we pushed one too many buttons which resulted in some ‘active’ members becoming ‘passive’ members. So if you’re not attracting the right kind of guy on Gaydar, it could be because your roles have been reversed!

Please update your ‘Profiles and Settings’ and make any necessary changes. You might want to take this opportunity to refresh your profile, change your attire, upload new pictures and update your favourite things. We’re really sorry if this has caused any inconvenience, sometimes things go wrong and we’re not too big to say sorry."

    LOL :-)

    I agree with Red.

You droned on a bit. Use this opportunity to write something short and pithy and let your fab photos do the talking.

Short is sweet and it's best to be a bit mysterious don't ya think?

    Cal,

I think everything is restored. I used a backup from a few days ago so if you made any modifications since then they will unfortunately be missing. Let me know if everything looks ok.

    Again, sorry for the trouble.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Cal,

One last thing. Some of the line breaks in the text may be different than they were before so you might have to do a little tweaking to get it just right. Sorry about that.

    Thanks a lot RJ ...
You guys are really the BEST !

BTW -Laurence and Red, I really don't give a FIG what you guys think. REALLY - I don't. I'm not so offended by your remarks as just simply dismissive. Like me or don't, cuz, Baby, I don't care...I have my pals here. They know who they are, and that's that. I stand by my words. Every last one of 'em.

Peace and good will to ya all -

What a trip of a thread... I guess eveybody has an opinion- and I sure as heck have never been one to sit on my laurels - but CT2JS is a crusader, in the most true sense of the word. He is honestly one of the reasons that I've been hangin around RJ for as long as I have - a friend - sperm to worm (;) The world needs a few more dreamer-crusader types, honestly- 'coz there's so much lame brainless below the belt bullshit that's keeping the human race from realizing its full potential. the times they'r-a-changin' - be wary. be prepared.
