His friend Jeantel tells Trayvon that Zimmerman may have been a rapist just prior to altercation:

Wouldn't any 17 year gay boy walking alone at night think that, if they were being followed by a man, by car, and by foot? At 17, if a man were stalking me, I would have thought he was either a rapist, or a gay basher, tbh.

Er no. And you're making the assumption that Zimmerman was "stalking" him. You're also making the assumption that the logical response was to (go back to) attack Zimmerman.

I don't think Zimmerman is "innocent" - after all, a 17 year old is dead.

I was telling him the same thing in another thread. He doesn't listen or want to hear other people's opinions it seems.

He missed the whole point (again). Trayvon Martin was gay?

The Daily Caller is the same site that possibly paid people to fabricate a story about a sitting US Senator, so they are big on spin and stretching every little thing out. This borders dangerous close on thought crime.

With that being said, it's logical that a person could draw any number of conclusion about a stranger following them in the night, all of them likely being that the stranger is up to no good. Robbery, rape and/or assault are what would be on anyone's mind if they saw a strange person following them. I don't think "gay panic" had a thing to do with this case and besides, the trial is over, it's not like this can be raised a defense and second, you can't try a dead person, so it's not like Trayvon can be charged with a hate crime that couldn't be proven anyway. Articles like this are only trying to keep hate going and inflame more people. Zimmerman was acquitted, what more do is supporters want?

CNN didn't put the whole implied "Trayvon was a homophone killer who tried to kill Zimmerman" angle on it.

Of course not, they tried to bury it. Any homophobia coming from anyone on the Martin side would alienate gay support.

But the words are there, for anyone to take note of (or ignore).

Where is the homophobia? You are talking about thought crime that probably wasn't even a factor in this case. Besides, you can't try a dead person, so what course of action could even come of this alleged thought crime?

You can take note of the words or ignore them.

I don't see anything in my comments advocating for a prosecution of Trayvon Martin.

When I was 17 and some older dude was coming after me, I probably wouldn't have thought anything except to get the hell away from him and I'd fight back if the guy tried to get me.

    Um yeah...

Would go back and attack the guy pre-emptively and beat him down?

"Did Trayvon Martin think Zimmerman was a "gay rapist"?"

    Jeantel suggested it, right?

Did Trayton say, "Yeah, you must be right" or anything like that to indicate he thought so? If not then I think this topic and these news reports to be nothing more than picking at an open wound.

    Does it even matter anymore?

No matter what anyone thinks, a 17 year old is dead. And the Zimmerman's family (his wive and kids) lives are ruined.

The case itself doesn't really matter any more. What matters is the depth of the divide between the way two factions see the world.

As I said in the other thread, it makes me want to cry.

The sad thing is, so much of this shit all boils down to that stupid GUN. If he didn't have that gun in public, it would have just been 2 guys that beat each other up... but no.. the gun had to come out and turn this all to hell in a hand basket.
Personally, I think GZ should have left that gun at home where it belongs.

Mmmmhm. Guns have that uncanny ability to empower the wielder. We think that without one, Zimmerman may very well not have followed the kid and instead waited for police.

Neither Jenteal nor Trayvon said anything about gays. Why do homophobic teabaggers and self-loathing gay conservatives equate pedophilia with being gay? Disgusting.

Oh, and, Zimmerman's own cousin accused him of pedophilia. So if Trayvon Martin thought he was a pedophile, he wasn't the first.
