So I'm trying speed dating this week at at an event hosted by the queer student group on campus. Has anyone tried speed dating? What are the most creative questions you can think of to ask a person when you only have 3-4 minutes to talk to them?

i've done it once two years ago and I met a really great guy who I ended up dating for a year before we both called it quits. speed-dating is fun! I spent my three minutes asking really basic questions, answering his questions and just trying to build repoire based off our responses. If the three minutes went by smoothly and the guy was interesting and half-way decent looking, he went on my yes list icon_smile.gif

    good luck!

    Speed Kills !! ;-)

    Kidding !
I would ask a few questions about personal values you desire in a partner.
I think these are more important than if you both love Britney or whatever.
Differences can work. But your core values are what should be compatible.
    Good luck man !

    1. Where did you grow up?
    2. What's your perfect weekend?
    3. Favorite place you've traveled?
    4. Ever had your heart broken?
    5. Most embarrassing moment?
    6. Who are you closest to in your family?

You could make an endless list of things that will give you an insight into his personality.

I really wish we'd have a speed dating event in Atlanta.

In things like this it don't matter what you say ...
if you're cute you can speak Romanian and the guys will remember you

Now for Yourself to distinguish the one-nighters from the possibles

ask ... How many BF's they had and for How long
Then ask him .... If he keeps his lube in the nightstand or in the bathroom icon_wink.gif

I did it a couple of times in the S.F. Bay Area. The first time, I met another guy with the same 'keyword' on his jest and we hit it off. Even dated for awhile. After that one time, nothing clicked.

That said, it's fun if your outgoing, reasonably conversational, and are open to meeting new people (like the kind of person on Elimidate).

I'm actually going to partake in a Speed Dating event on Halstead January 21st. I figured I try something different. Maybe I'll find a new boyfriend for 2011. But it should definitely be fun. Sounded like a hoot which is why I signed up.

I think I'd like to try speed dating, mostly for the evaluation part at the end where people rate you.....Would be interesting to see how one is truly percieved by others in a (psuedo) dating scenario.
