"Gay rights activist John Aravosis, whose well-trafficked AmericaBlog.com is urging the boycott, is unapologetic about targeting Utah rather than California, where voters defined marriage in the state Constitution as a heterosexual act.

Utah, Aravosis said, "is a hate state," and on this issue, "at a fundamental level, the Utah Mormons crossed the line. . . . They just took marriage away from 20,000 couples and made their children bastards. You don't do that and get away with it." "

I understand the idea, and don't agree with how aggressively they campaigned, but it was the voters of California who were ultimately responsible.

The voters of California were brainwashed into voting for this horrendous proposition 8. But that is strictly their decision and they are going to have to live with it. I agree that Utah is a hate state. What damned business did those mormons from Utah have interfering with the affairs of the people of California by pressuring them to vote for this horrible proposition 8. If you don't live in a particular state or locality then you really have no damn business telling those people to vote on something because your beliefs are being questioned and challenged. That is why I feel that since I don't live and pay taxes in California, I have absolutely nothing to say about how the people of California manage their homestate's affairs. I have enough to worry about in the State of New York with our many problems especially our rapidly ballooning state budget deficit.

I hear the Mormons are headed to New York, as one of the next places to stop gay marriage.

It is a good thing our Assembly has passed marriage equality legislation supported by our Governor. It looks like the Democrats just narrowly took the senate. So, if they are headed here I am not sure exactly what they are planning on doing.
