At my age, I'm obsessed with a celebrity

I know it's normal for younger people, but here I am at age 41,fantasizing about a radio talk show host. To my knowledge, he's not even gay. I love everything I know about him, which is probably a lot less than my fantasies suggest. Obviously there's cognitive dissonance on my part, feeling one way and realizing another way. It just seems odd, I haven't done this in years. There's probably no chance in hell that he'd be interested in me even if he were so inclined, I'm just amazed by the obsession. Maybe I need a hobby? What do you guys think?

I'd rather not mention who it is, because to my knowledge, he's straight.

Does he have a really sexy voice? Try the google hangouts link that gets posted here regularly; Aristoshark's voice is amazing.

No, none of them. He's younger than me, and yes he has a sexy voice, at least I think so. Doesn't anyone think this obsession on my part is unusual? icon_question.gif

Are you jacking off while listening to him? That might be considered unusual by some.

Who's the lucky object of your obsession?

I'll guess "Jordan Sekulow (born July 14, 1982 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American lawyer, radio talk show host, Washington Post blogger and political consultant. In addition, he is the Executive Director at the American Center for Law & Justice (ACLJ), an international public interest law firm and educational organization founded by his father, Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel for the ACLJ."

Everyone wants to know who it is, but no one has said anything about my question, which is am I strange for having this obsession at my age?

If I told you who it was, it would distract from the question, and I wouldn't want to give him negative publicity if he is (as I gather) straight.

And he's not most of you guy's type, anyway.

I remember listening to him when he was on in NY. He's straight and married, and not who I'm obsessed with. And he's certainly not attractive.

    I'm feeling it.

    Back to OP.

Now that your heart has made itself heard to you, it's only going to get louder by the day. You can't fight this.

You need to let your car take you to wherever that radio signal is coming from, and declare your love.

No matter what his current circumstances or commitments, the two of you can move onto the life you feel now in your dream.

    Don't let this chance go.

I'm reminded of the song "You Are A Tourist" by Death Cab For Cutie.

I don't understand the rationale behind this.

Why drag him into this? It's my problem, not his.

I think I understand your obsession. For a few years back in the 90's, I had a similar 'thing' for a radio talk show host - before I knew what he looked like. His voice was (is) like velvet gold (I don't have an adequate description). I didn't really want the guy sexually - but I wanted to hear the voice - which I usually did on my car radio. Name? Jim Rome.

No, not him. I'm really green with envy now, I just read a message board where someone who knew him in college reaffirmed he's happily straight. Even taking this with a grain of salt, I got this hot feeling of embarrassment and disappointment all over. What the hell is the matter with me? I need more hobbies. Or maybe it's symptoms of a mid-life crisis? I feel so silly and childish right now.
