Ours in downtown Atlanta was a spiritual experience. At least 2,000 people of all ages.

The speakers gave the message of 'Make yourself better. Make your community better. VOTE!'

For the first hour rain came down hard but nobody left. The determination to honor Trayvon's family was very strong.

How about you guys, anyone attend a rally?

Eventually you'll discover that negativity is exhausting. You'll then stop wasting your life.

I wanted to go to one. There was several all over the state. I'm glad we've taken to this instead of rioting.

Atlanta's rally was totally peaceful. There was talk of the anger everyone felt about the murder of an unarmed teenager but every speaker emphasized that we must channel our energy into getting involved with policymaking, not venting wastefully through a riot.

Another thing I felt was that I was totally welcome even though with my pale white skin I didn't look like the majority there. I had good conversations with at least a dozen men and women.

I don't go to church but this event felt very spiritual.

I encourage any of you to participate in future rallies for social justice. You'll feel good from the experience.

[quote][cite]Draper said[/cite]I don't see any purpose in those rallies. People will get fired up about it for now and forget about it in a few days. The bigger issue at hand is black on black crime. "

The biggest diversionary talking-point from the Right is this idea of intraracial crime being exclusive to the black community.

Most crimes affecting whites are 'white on white'. The same can be said of the Latino community in that crimes tend to be within the community.

Would you like to guess the statistics on crimes involving financial fraud? Whites can be absolutely criminal!

I was at the one in NYC attended by Beyoncé and Jay Z, Al Sharpton, and Trayvon's parents. Great gathering of people.
