Marketable traits for a 22 year old, six-figure earning software developer, who now wants to become a webcam model?

Hey guys, I'm new to the site (I am amazed by the traffic on this site!). I've recently become bi-curious and need some advice on some things. This is going to sound really whorish, but I want to become a webcam model because it sounds fun (and could always enjoy more cash).

I'm 22 years old. What you'll read next is wherein my main questions lie. I'll just list a bunch of things about me that might make me unique and more desirable- I would appreciate your thoughts on my follow-up questions.

    - I am 22 years old.
    - I recently took up a job opportunity making me a six-figure salary.
    - I've been doing programming for almost a decade (I started REALLY young) and have invested in my self-taught education with my own independent studies. I am now a very knowledgeable software developer.
    - Bought a five bedroom house (I use one of those rooms as my home office though) before my 21st birthday.
    - Have an entrepreneurial twist (my last two start-ups were not successful though, hah- I blame the business partners I had though icon_razz.gif )
    - Have never been with a male but am very open to it.
    - Only recently began receiving anal from a female play partner (dildo). I think it feels amazing.
    - Also enjoy giving anal (obviously, I've only done this to a female play partner so far).
    - Used to be a very devout Christian (and YEC). I would even engage in a lot of intellectual debates with atheists and people of other religions. However, months ago, I came to the conclusion that Christianity isn't... right. So in my mind I'm kind of a "good boy" turned bad, lol. Now I subscribe more to a mix of deism (not as culty as it sounds, haha), nihilism (Google it, if needed), hedonism (Google it, if needed), altruism, and agnosticism.

I guess there's more about me, but those are the things that I think separate me from others.

I want to be a webcam model because I love to flirt and flaunt. Still, I don't think it will be worth my time if I'm not able to make more than $60/hr (because that's basically what my salary is converted hourly).

Do you guys see any particular way I can market myself, or if there is a niche market for self-made, successful, young men?

    Suggestions? Thanks!

Haha- it is. Although, I didn't mean it so much as an insult as I did banter.

    Bravo!

You're trying to elevate the profession of webcam model.

And you need some way of conveying greater depth while at the same time, maintaining their erotic attention.

Try jacking off over pages of poetry

or to music of your favorite Wagnerian opera

you could slip-fist yourself a giant dildo.

Don't let anyone talk you out of your dream.

Yep. If it was serious, I would have stopped pretending like I could type and made the post say: "ii lyk modelling on teh camz u pay me"

If I can confuse you further, I will take that opportunity. It was a serious post, but then I realized how arrogant it sounded... when in reality, I just wanted an accurate portrayal of myself so that I could get accurate advice.

Don't limit yourself to poetry either.

I've always wanted to jack to a webcam model while he read historical fiction to me.

There's nothing like hearing some hot battle scene from ancient Rome,

read to me by a sensual webcam model,

while of course he's taking that giant dildo up his ass.

Stick with software development. The most you'll earn at being a webcam model is a chuckle.

You have to work eight hours a day like a regular job if you actually want to make money. It's better to have a regular job because masturbating or sticking dildos up your ass eight hours a day is not fun and gets old right away.

Don't come off as a douche, firstly.

Doubt there is a market for that type, its more about the visual for guys honey buns.

getthecomputersputin saidman, you're lying your ass off. if you want to be desirable, how about keeping it honest instead of telling a bunch of lies about yourself that even stevie wonder could see through.

you seriously expect anyone here to believe that your ass is making six figures @ 22 during this day and time with the job market the way it is. you got folks that even have jobby job experience that aren't finding work or let alone making that type of money working for somebody. so what makes you think anybody out here that's living in the real world and not on the internet is gonna by your story full of lies? gtfoh. how about marketing yourself to a shrink?

Well, this actually makes me feel better than it does hurt- because everything I posted was the truth. What's wrong with being young and driven? You don't think it's possible? What about Mark Zuckerberg? I'm not a typical employee. I am hired by companies for the salaries I make because they see what I can offer them. I learn fast, work fast, make less mistakes than my colleagues, and always keep up with the latest and greatest technology. If employers can detect the amount of effort you put into your work through references and the way you present yourself, then they'll pretty much throw the money at you.

Furthermore, you think I don't have "jobby job" experience? Again, sorry to disappoint you but while my full-time work hours don't exceed 41 hours (on average), I spend an additional 20, 30, or even 40 hours each week in either my independent studies or working on startups/side projects. That puts my "jobby job" experience at closer to 6 or 7 years in equivalence. I think your problem lies in the fact that your mind cannot wrap around the concept that someone as young as me can make more money than you.

I do understand your doubt though, so whatever.

Jeeze, I didn't realize the gay community had so many hardened jerks (pun? I think so). When the users on the business or philosophy forums I participate on read my profile, they congratulate me on my successes, not get sour about them. As mentioned, I only gave so much information because I wanted accurate feedback.

But thanks for showing me and other newcomers that we have to decline into assholery in order to participate here. Of course, it wouldn't be fair to classify everyone here into that category. Still, after some of the responses here and reading other threads, you guys can be real assholes to each other- on a greater ratio than what is witnessed elsewhere.

Thanks for the input anyway, everyone. I've decided that playing with gay men online would not only be less lucrative than my normal "wage" but also not nearly as fun as I had thought. Who knew so many gay people could be so rude?

Getthecomputer... I mentioned I was wanting to do it for fun and extra cash. Just because I already make a lot of money doesn't mean I don't want to make more. Plus, I have a lot of downtime right now- I am not working on anything on the side and am already comfortable enough with my skillset.

Another thing I neglected to mention as a reason for wanting to do this- I recently came out of Christianity. I had a lot of peace in my life as a Christian with some all-powerful being supposedly watching out for me. When I really got into questioning everything about Christianity 7 or 8 months ago, I had that peace ripped from me.

Now, I'm mostly a nihilist. I fully consider myself a mixture of deism, nihilism, hedonism, agnosticism, and altruism. Still, nihilism is the most prevalent of my philosophical beliefs. Nihilism is a very depressing place to be. I kind of would rather do fun things with my life than have real responsibilities. Maybe that's why it seems illogical to you? It is illogical, but to keep it simple- I hardly give a fuck anymore (I even picked up cussing again after leaving Christianity). icon_smile.gif

In a way, my ego is partly mooching off of the powerhouse that I used to be. Now I feel just as pointless as my beliefs.

ataraxia saidunlikely that you will be able to make 60$ an hour by being a webcam model...there are thousands of ppl willing to do it for free... supply and demand dude,

i wouldnt leave any consistent job to chase this unlikely career, nor would i waste my spare time trying to make it happen, esp if monetary compensation was my goal. in fact i bet the percentage of models that actually make 60$/hour is probably like 0.1%. but the good news is you can always give it up for free

since your a programming wiz maybe you should be looking at it from a different angle...like perhaps creating your own webcam site, i can already think of a couple ideas that have a different twist with webcams.

I've thought about this atar. If you have ideas, hit me up with a message and maybe we can put some of those ideas into an implementation. I don't know interested I am in looking for anymore business opportunities at the moment, though. However, unless you really plan on doing anything better with those ideas, then it won't hurt to discuss them with me, hah.
