So, I've been looking for a decent guy about my age to have something long term with. I haven't had any luck for over a year. At first, I thought I was unappealing, but I've come to realise that the real issue is the fact that there aren't any decent gays looking for a relationship in my city! You'd assume that given the number of amazing straight guys, there'd be SOME good gay ones, but no. Anybody else experiencing the same thing?

It's a tough world out there ... we are everywhere, sometimes right in plain site ... but we don't walk around with a scarlet letter G sown to our collar ... so what does that have to say about us if we don't stand out in a crowd ... we are just like everybody else. If you life in a a community that doesn't have a gay community center, then there is a good chance you are living in the sticks or a very small town. You have two choices, either move to a bigger city, or start your own little movement, you never know who'll come out of the woodwork. icon_smile.gif

I've considered moving to a bigger city. Starting my own movrment considering that I'm not out as yet isn't much of an option, although it seems like a very good one. Thanks, though.

If you have enough money to move to a bigger city and start a new life, more power to you. If I could, I would.
If you can't, you should probably just work with whatever options you have (dating sites, GSA meetings, etc.)

Well there isn't much gay life in India. The only thing gay city in India is Mumbai and we only 1 gay establishment i.e. Voodoo and even that is gay bar only on Saturday night. The other gay event you can attend is Kashish film festival (Mumbai Queer Film Festival) that takes place in may every year. I was going to attend it this year but couldn't happen at the last minute.

I think I'ma sit this out. The Indian dating sites are repulsive. Perhaps once I've come out, networking might provide a solution.

Yeah, I know. I'm not travelling 5 hours to go to a one-night gay bar. Also, long distance isn't my cup of tea, considering that people that attend Kashish are usually Mumbaikars

I know. All I am saying is that if you really want to feel the gay vibe and have a relationship then you will have to move outside this country.
