How do you deal with people in your life who want to know more about your sexuality?

In my case- it was in relation to what they were taught growing up in a Catholic School.

I recently was faced with questions about my sexuality by family which I was quite happy to answer to help them understand that what they learned in Catholic school is an interpretation written by humans; I'm referring to the Bible.

Since then they shared with me this link and they have been thankful for opening their eyes. I thought this was very informative and will likely use it as a reference in the future. You know in case anyone starts quoting Leviticus, since that's really all people read and care about...

Haha if someone tried to convince me I was evil, then yeah, that'd be my response too!

In this case, it came up that I wish to marry and this person said they wouldn't be able to attend. Although they supported me, it went against what they were taught. I challenged them to revisit whatever passage they were taught and to read what that message meant to them. I've unraveled so many years of teaching for them by simply asking them to reread what they were taught and see if they get the same message. Any open minded person would see the contradictions and misinterpretations one can make by just focusing on one passage.
