IS it good to drink/effective proteins at night?

Forget the "don't eat after dark" myth, but also avoid going overboard with some massive protein injection before sleeping. If you're going to bed more than a few hours after dinner, a small evening snack that includes both protein and some carbs is a good call. Every meal should have some of each. My favorite is a couple of squares of extremely dark chocolate plus some protein powder mixed in milk.

From what I understand when you sleep you recover from your workout so taking protein before sleeping gives it something to rebuild with. Ive heard that you should take it within an hour of sleeping. I could be wrong. Its times like these I wish NYmuscle could give us an old fashioned bio lesson.

I've heard of hard-core bodybuilders setting the alarm to wake up and chug a protein shake every three hours. Yikes! I hope it's worth it for them.
