Nicole Kidman is freaking beautiful. The part in the movie when she is first introduced, I mean I even wanted her. No for real I had no idea she was THAT beautiful. She is still very pretty but in that movie she was beautiful.

Here, Here. Yes, but Ewan McGregor is also stunningly handsome! The Elephant Love Medley is friggin' amazing, as is Come What May. Definitely a favorite film, IMOHO.

I don't get off on chicks but that was a great movie. One of the few I've watched a number of times plus I've got a cd of the soundtrack. I still remember the first time I saw it thinking, wow, this is special. Everything from the story line to the camera work to the sets to the music, and their adaptions, the acting, the costumes, the lines and their timing, all tightly woven. Just beautiful. I love it.

    Just wiki'd it...

It was the first musical nominated for Best Picture in 10 years, following Disney's Beauty and the Beast (1991).

My favorite scene was with the musical number "Your Song", written by Elton John. I loved that song in this film and loved their performances.

i think she's far from being an excellent actress, but some of her movies are not bad. ie the others, eyes wide shut, the hours, dogville etc

didn't like moulin rouge & bewitched

also stepford wives was pretty bleah

now that i think of it she hasn't done anything good in like a decade.

did anyone even bother to watch "australia"

I worked at the Medusa hotel, that a lot of the actors and crew stayed at while making the movie. Met Nicole several times over the years and she is striking and really a funny sweet person.

Brilliant movie by Baz' construction and direction, and every member of the cast acted his or her ass off. Well deserved the Best Movie nod and other accolades it garnered. If the last Endeavour of the season wasn't on PBS tonight we'd watch Moulin Rouge again. Tomorrow!

You are so wrong watch the others and rabbit hole

....i like the others... i said it's a good movie...

i don't think she's a bad actress. she even won an academy award one time, i think.

it just seems like she keeps playing the same character over & over in all her movies...

Moulin Rouge at the time had a great impact on my life. It raised my level of feeling creative and made me more able to make a decision to change my life for some odd reason. I ended up moving to Honolulu due to feeling of needing to take control of my life at that time. So yes, I love the film a lot and could not wait to get it on DVD and the soundtrack as well. I also apart from many of the pieces mentioned above, LOVE LOVE LOVE the ending credits music Bolero.

I can always tell a great film by the amount of scenes I can watch over and over.

"The Others" was a very good spooky film and she was terrific in it.

It was and she was, even though the second time she was on screen one of us turned to the other in the theater and said, "Oh, she's dead. Got it!"

She's a fabulous actress, and she has a wide range, despite some of the comments here which make one wonder if they've actually seen much of her work. Eyes Wide Shut was a trainwreck, and she was a minor ray of light in that mess. Sad for Kubrick to have that great failure as his last movie. Some guys never know when to quit. With that, we will! icon_biggrin.gif
