Every year since god knows when, talk show host Oprah Winfrey comes up with a list of her favorite things..

They range from material objects to... well I just Wiki'ied this thing while typing this and its more material things... (For some reason I thought there were people who created positive change in there somewhere... oh well)

So I thought it might be really fun and shit for RJ members to come up with a list, lets say a TOP 10 list of there Favorite things for 2008!! ((I need to stress that don't just say example, I love Cake, Is there a certain Cake you like and a company or person who makes it?))

You can put anything on the list: people, animals, objects, go nuts..

It'll be intresting to see what people come up with. I'm going to think mine over.

    What Timberoo said.

Oh, and sitting in a idling car near the beach with a pair of binoculars while I watch CuriousJockAZ doing his favorite thing.

    Favorite moments of 2008:

    1. Seeing my partner's joy when he got the brand new car I bought him, titled solely in his name, no lien (poor gift if I were a co-owner or if there were payments). It was his Christmas gift, but didn't arrive until January, 2008, so qualifies for this thread.

    2. Doing the Miami AIDS Walk.

    3. Doing the Fort Lauderdale AIDS Walk.

    4. Staffing an AIDS/HIV agency's booth for 2 days, during PrideFest 2008, talking to hundreds of people, getting donations, telling them about an organization I support.

    5. Marching in the Pride Parade once again.

    6. Performing in a gay chorus with my partner and our other friends, at the GALA Choruses Festival. Held only once every 4 years, this time it was in Miami, over 147 gay & lesbian choruses, 6000+ singers performing continuously for a week, the event of a lifetime for many of us. Plus many receptions and parties, such non-stop intensity that I took a Miami hotel room for 11 days, to avoid the daily commute to Fort Lauderdale.

    7. Seeing my partner's surprise when I was the winning bidder at the GALA auction for a trip to San Francisco for 2, including airfare, hotel, and a tour of the wine country. He didn't even know I was bidding, he hates me to spend my money, so I had slipped away and bid from the back of the hall, then had them present the trip package to him. His birthday occurred during GALA, and this was one of my presents to him. We haven't taken the trip yet, probably in the Spring.

    8. His further surprise when we returned home from GALA, and he found a giant (and I mean GIANT) gift-wrapped box filling our living room, festooned with birthday balloons. Inside were all kinds of presents, including a computerized embroidery sewing machine he wanted (well, he IS gay).

    9. Performing again with the gay chorus my partner co-founded 16 years ago, this time including a solo by his sister, who sings grand opera. Nothing bonds like sharing a stage together.

    10. Being presented with a plaque as "Volunteer of the Year" at our local Gay & Lesbian Community Center.

There were lots of other great moments, but the deal here was 10. Plus there's one that hasn't happened yet, the 165-mile bicycle ride to Key West to raise money for 6 AIDS/HIV non-profit agencies. That's this Friday & Saturday, and it'll be very memorable, provided I can finish. LOL!!!!
