A local tv station in Houston has posted a story about a church preaching against gays. The blog at the bottom is busy this morning with people spouting, for the most part, hatred against us. One even went as far as to say that we were all sick in the head and being gay is a mild form of insanity! I have fought for an hour making a point, and they just pounce on me. My screen name is "getalife." Any takers?

Wow man... reading some of those posts just shows you how delusional and crazy some of those people are. "Your kind", "Mother Nature makes mistakes sometimes", "mild form of insanity". Their hypocrisy is astounding. I wouldn't waste my time on them to be honest, they remind me of the crazy bitch in The Mist, you know, the crazy religious nutjob that gets shot in the head, at which point everyone in the theatre cheers?

Thing is, a lot of those respondents are likely self loathing gays. Why else would they be posting on some blog about something so unimportant to their supposedly busy straight, family oriented lives?

I do remember that happening when I saw the movie also!

Dude just ignore them because chances are you have some gays in that group who haven't come to terms with themselves anyway!! It's not YOUR problem, it's THIERS!!!! just try to live as best a life you possibly can!! Unfortunately, "HATE B GONE" hasn't been invented yet for mass hate but believe it is slowly dying one person at a time It may seem too slow, but there is progress.

I took a quick look, but didn't reply because the site requires registration to post. I can try to do that after work, but one comment caught my attention. In it, the poster mentions that homosexuality does not occur in the animal kingdom, when in fact, it does. You might share this link in one of your replies:

Ask her how many times she has been divorced for one thing, then remind her that one of our highest ranking city officials in Houston is openly lesbian.

    Hey gayblaketx.

Give us an A for effort. We tried setting up an account, but they blocked us with ' 500 servlet error' which we understand from a few Geek sites means that their server is redirecting our application into an error message via dispatch filters/code patches.

Very clever. They may have done this to stop Canadians - we're so radically tolerant, y'know? Either that, or because they can't fire us a hate message to our email here as Canada has pretty fierce Hate speech laws.

Good example: there's a group down there that parades in front of funerals etc with signs that say 'God hates fags" etc and their head guy was up here at the border seeking entrance to attend a function.

Access denied. So I guess they're responding. heh.

I like the setup for the Houston Chronicle's website much better. It allows you to give a thumbs down to a comment - and it is always fun to see the ones where the negative ratings outweigh the positive ratings by a huge margin.icon_cool.gif

Probably just a database outage. Try again, later.

I lived in Houston (26 years) and went to A&M....
they don't call College Station - Closet Station for nothing LOL...

You can't change closed minds. I would say leave it be. . . Fight when you have a chance to be heard. Your being drowned out by too much fear at the moment.

My parents still live in Houston. My mom says soo many are so pissed off about the election. That it is no surprise they aired such a story ....

I wonder why people in Houston are mad about the election? They voted for Obama... as did the countys that contain Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. Living in Dallas county - I was pretty happy to see that blue dot on the map!3007377239_e7bef82a42.jpg?v=0

Exactly. These people are mentally challenged. You can't reason with them. I don't waste my time arguing with people like this. It's time I'll never get back and is better spent reading a good book, taking a hike in the woods, eating chocolate, having wine with a friends, etc. (you get my point)

    A post I just made...thought I'd share...it's good!

As I've said all day long, I want each of you heterosexuals to turn gay tomorrow. I want you to try your very hardest to become gay. Try and take an interest in the same sex. You can't do it can you? Why? Because you aren't gay!! What gives you the right to tell us that 'it's a choice and we can change.' Guess what, we can't change just like you can't. We are hard wired this way. God created us. Why would anybody in their right mind subject themselves to such bigotry and hatred? This board is festooned with an undertone of hatred against us. Why are you so concerned with who I entertain in my bedroom? It doesn't affect my work ethics or my character. So why??? Your going to believe a bunch of baboons from a thousand years ago who, which many of the Romans were, gay themselves??? There was a preacher in Denver who was caught! I think the Bible preaches just as harsh against hypocrites! If I could turn straight, I would have done it years ago. I don't want to be this way, but I am. I would love to know how many of you have a mistress or somebody on the side that your not sharing? Go on, throw your stones. Dr. King stood for EVERYBODY'S rights. I'll be damned if I'm going to take this lying down. I will not concede my right or have my god given rights taken away from the minority because of the will of the majority. If other's hadn't fought in years past, we'd still be going so all white schools and all black schools. They thought that was the way it should be then too. Today, nobody would ever think of doing such. I live for the day when my people (as some of you have so distastefully called us by) will be vindicated. Our day is approaching. In the words of Thomas Pain from his book Common Sense..."Give me liberty or give me death!"

Hey Blake, I rallied to your cause with this:

I find it staggering that people are relying on a collection of books that have been translated over and over and over again (ever play the game "Telephone"?) that were written when there was no understanding of science as a basis for deciding civil rights. These are the same books that made no judgment about polygamy, slavery or a host of other things that we now consider, oh, a tad inappropriate.

If you count the number of times that the books of the Bible condemn heterosexual infidelity and compare that the number of times they condemn same-sex relations, well, it seems to me that quite a few of you should be dropping your self-righteous attitudes regarding people who WANT to get married to each other and pick up signs condemning divorce. Where's the outrage that heterosexuals can get married while drunk in Las Vegas and then get divorced the next day?

Jesus says NOTHING, not one thing about homosexuality. He has plenty to say about divorce. Why isn't there a sign outside this church and sermon about "Why divorce is not ok"? Where is the federal amendment to ban divorce?
