It should be noted that the race relations decline, if these stats are to be believed, is also concurrent with the rise of the Tea Party movement, with more radical right-wing conservatism in the country, and with increasing Republican control of state houses. Are those factors also to be considered, or merely the occupant of the White House?

As long as Blacks "stay in their place" the Bubbas don't mind. Put one in a prominent place as all the race hatred in Bubba's twisted little brain comes to the surface.

No kidding. That's a pic of Mr Alan Dershowitz. I think it a good idea to tell Mr Dershowitz about this, don't you?

Observation is everything. A lot of racism and racial innuendo toward the President has been on display since 2008 and people have observed it. Any polling is going to reflect such observations.

Those are some good points but I am not sure if you can point to the "Republican-izing" of America as a cause. It may be completely unrelated.

I've seen this directly with white Southerners I've known for years and never thought of as racists. Even with some who claim they voted for Obama because they couldn't stand any more Republicans, they still had this underlying suspicion of what a black man might do with the power of the presidency.

FOX and the Republicans took advantage of this sentiment and fueled the flames with lie after lie.

Race relations are worse. It's no surprise.

We all know it's because white republicans don't like seeing a black man in the white house.

The poll wasn't "do you like having a black man as president" so I don't know how you got to your conclusion. Also, how does your statement explain that only 38% of blacks have a favorable view of race relations?

Good thing you took down Mr Dershowitz's pic RoseyEasy aka BigMiss. I contacted him on facebook and gave him the link to your profile.

Oh, like the fact there's a Black in the White House is unrelated? Despite what your OP intimates is the cause?

What was your point in tying a reported decline in race relations to Obama's term as President? The article doesn't make that connection, it was only you who attempted that relationship in your thread title.

And now begins the guessing game as to which previously-banned-from-RJ Right-Wing disruptor you are.

I thought this was no longer a problem BECAUSE we have a black man in the White House? That he would transform America into a magical place of love and togetherness, because he was so charming?

That's amazing, because one of the men who trained me in my current job is a black man originally from Guyana (and he talks with a heavy accent). If you asked me who I respect the most out of all the people I know in my employer's entire company of over 3,000 employees, I would immediately answer with this man's name. YOU need to stop projecting prejudice onto everything.

Ask yourself these questions: If Clarence Thomas were running for elective office, would white conservatives NOT vote for him, effectively voting for his opponent, simply because he were black? And, would black and white liberals vote against him simply because he were conservative?

Did anybody vote for Hermann Cain?

I planned to in the NY primary, but he didn't get that far.
