http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/2586355Anthony Weiner has lost his lead in the New York City mayor's race after revelations he continued to send lewd messages online to women after he resigned from Congress in 2011, according to a poll released Thursday.

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn garners 25% support among Democratic primary voters compared with 16% for Weiner, according to the poll by NBC 4 New York, The Wall Street Journal and the Marist Institute for Public Opinion.

It's the first survey since Weiner acknowledged Tuesday that he sent more salacious messages. Last month, the same poll showed Weiner leading Quinn by 5 percentage points.

Show the people who re-elected Mark Sanford how it's done, New York!

At first I thought the double entendres in the headline were cheap and immature, but I guess Weiner asked for it.

I'm still surprised that liberals have turned on Weiner, especially since he's done so well in the polls.

    Ted Kennedy, anyone??

    Bill Clinton?

    Tim Geithner?

    Joe Biden?

    Gary Hart?

    Jimmy Carter?

How long a list would you like?

Jimmy Carter? Really? Of what moral sin was Carter guilty?

But back in the real world, in which you apparently don't reside, New York Democrats are abandoning Weiner. Are there many similar examples among Republicans, of their own problem children? The more typical Republican response is to circle the wagons, and protect the sex offender by any means.

Weiner's fall among Democrats is a plus. Now please explain Democratic Senator Vitter from Louisiana, and Mark Sanford, and Larry Craig, and a long list of hypocritical family values Republicans.

Fox News just identifies them as Democrats, at least Sanford and Foley. icon_lol.gif

Seriously? Molester Mark Foley and adulterer Mark Sanford? They are both Republicans. Even Fox News can't be that untruthful. Or can they?

Decent people found Ted Kennedy revolting.

Republican hypocrites rehabilitated Clinton by witch-hunting and overreach. They are to blame for his revival; if they had sat back and let him self-destruct, his popularity would not have rebounded. But the GOP made him a victim.

Gary Hart's career ended due to his character issues. And I don't know what Tim Geithner and Jimmy Carter have to do with the price of tea in China.

Conservative Republicans are always surprised when decent people act decently. That's because they're so indecent.

I can't think of anything other than his 1980 Playboy interview.

It's well known in Republican circles he had an affair with this man.
