With my studies to be a registered Radiologic Technologist, part of my clinicals requires me to spend some time with transportation at the hospital. I only go two days (the first being completed), but these people who work in transportation go back and forth throughout the hospital pretty much non-stop. That is a lot of mileage in one day. The transportor I was studying under says he goes at least nine miles a day with his job. Don't get me wrong though, not a reason to go into the job. Just an interesting observation.

Plus moving all different types of patients day in and out does a lot for calorie burning as well.
