so, I know there is a fairly diverse opinion about this show...whether it leads to the left and so on...but I have to say...if you get a chance...watch Keith's SPECIAL COMMENT on the passage of Prop 8...

I was impressed with the argument and actually a bit touched...you'll need to wait a bit until the latest show is uploaded, but check it out...

Yeah, I saw it live, very powerful. He's the kind of gay spokesperson we need, but he's straight. I wonder why we have no one as articulate and persuasive as Olbermann who's also gay? And with as large an audience?

But glad to have him on our side.

He seemed so sad and yet so passionate. I dare say there are people on this site that don't have the passion he just displayed.

I saw it on another thread, and it made me cry.

We need more people like this guy

You know what..many people have made comments about it but this is the first time I've seen someone (non-gay) so passionate about it. I felt his frustration.

Is it weird that I wanted to kiss the screen after he stopped talking?

I think it was excellent, but why did it take him so long, many states before CA had this happen.

Olbermann started "Countdown" in 2003, which didn't tackle political controversy as much at that time, more into novelty news. He found his editorial voice only a couple of years ago, which has grown much stronger this election year.

The last big wave of successful anti-gay state legislation was in 2004, during the Bush reelection, as part of the Rove strategy to use gays to bait Republican voters. But whatever Olbermann's evolution & timing, I'm glad he's with us now.
