I read this article and it's something I've thought about for years. If you can't find what you're looking for you gotta look within yourself for answers.

Good for you for having an open mind.

I find it interesting that the previous responses have all been about attracting guys (including the now-deleted two-message post with the detailed accounts of always finding the wrong ones). icon_smile.gif

    IMHO:

The "you create your own reality" concept, at least as it's packaged and sold, is an oversimplification. I think that we do have a certain degree of influence and a certain number of choices -- far more of both than we are taught -- but there is also something much greater at play, something our tiny little minds cannot grasp, something they certainly do not get to control. Call it whatever you want.

Some of the best things that have ever happened to me have been the diametric opposite of what my mind, personality and ego had wanted and believed would be best for me. If I had had the power to bully Life into meeting my demands, my life would have been the worse for it.

The more clearly I can perceive what is true in the here and now -- about myself and the people and situations that make up my world -- the more equipped I am to navigate this life, and the better off I am. Without that clarity of perception, all the visualization and manifesting in the world doesn't mean squat.

I'm still trying to figure out who I attract, but I've had some shy and quiet guys gravitate toward me. As for online, just a lot of old guys looking for hookups and some weirdos looking to be dominated and called names.

Great article; thanks for posting. The law of attraction is undoubtedly real and I've seen both the negative side (when I was in high school) and currently the great, positive side. Could not be happier with the people in my life. Change the way you think and your life will indeed change.

But that requires being thoughtful, of course, which most people absolutely are NOT. icon_wink.gif

I'm attracting something big! icon_eek.gif so its taking a little time for it to deliver. icon_lol.gif

Well, this law attracting thingy does work! I've seen it I've tested it, but there is a method that tunes to what you need as to be it effective!...A discipline thought on what you want + a little intuition to it "feelings", in order to make it really work.

Everyone's mind is like a busy city filled with cars say traffic and you tend to see what comes along in random. If you could pause and froze time and everything in it, you could walk around like God and look at everyone in 3D, and you will get to the object fast! which usually a Mentalist approach of reading one's mind. well had the opportunity to become one but didn't quite strike when I was a kid, which was a friend of my grandfather.

The other method is being in the center of things as many interpret as the vortex, being still watching what goes around and you could look at the one you want and focus on.That's why there is such thing as meditation It brings stillness to core vortex of the mind.

PS. icon_cool.gif I'm attracting someone here. Not sure if he's having nightmares of me icon_lol.gificon_razz.gif

Conscious thought is how I overcame depression. I owe my life to it.

I started to read up on Taoism whilst in one of my most depressive states on recommendation from a friend. It opened my mind to stopping worrying, stopping the "blame game" and focusing my energy inwards to recognise my own patterns of behaviour which were bringing negative influence into my life.

I think I've always been fundamentally a good person, but had not yet learnt some simple life lessons.

    - take responsibility for everything you do
    - always look to blame yourself first, rather than anyone else
    - say sorry and mean it
    - forgive yourself for your actions
    - forgive others for theirs

Since then, I've discovered that I am a much happier, more confident, and hopefully a more wise person.

I now continue to attract the same high caliber of person into my life; I never make enemies; and I value my friendships far more than I ever did.

Very well said. I'm still trying to take those points into account in my everyday life. It's not always easy, but it has helped me be a better person...

    Better than what, exactly?
