Scary movie! As scary as The Shining & The Exorcist. It's like Amityville Horror meets The Exorcist....It's based on a true story so it makes u think of the supernatural & if ghosts really do exist. Has anyone ever encountered any ghost-like phenomena?.....

I thought it was a decent horror film but not quite up there with the mentioned films. Witches= devil worship?! That's my gripe.

It was a great movie. One of those, jump-out-of-your-seat films. The best thing about it was the fact that it was a true story or based on true events.

My niece wanted me to take her to this but I didn't have the time. Did I miss a good one? We watched Dark Skies last night with Keri Russell... It was alright, enjoyed it enough I guess!

That clap when she was down in the basement kinda did me! Popped up in my seat a little on that one. I'm not a big fan of horror with happy endings though. Probably could've been much better if the movie had been based on that witch and her family instead. Wan is capable of waaaaaay better than this.

My partner and I went to see it last Saturday. He's a horror movie fan, I'm not. We were both disappointed. It was ok, but nowhere nearly as good as the other movies mentioned above.

It was hyped up , as usual. Not a bad movie, just not hair raising like I was expecting. I still like the original Amityville horror. I think that was creepier.

Wonder what happened to all the possessed items they confiscated? Or if the demonologist couple are still around?.....

Not sure, but I think Ed died, Lorraine is still around. For a little while longer.

Imagine if all that haunted possessed stuff they accrued got accidentally sold at a flea market or antique sale.....There was a movie that came out this year with that plot. I forget the title.....

That's right! That was creepy too!.....That's one thing that goes thru my head when I purchase something at a flea market or estate/antique sale or even an old house---what's the provenance of the piece/ house u just purchased? What if it's haunted?.....

Like I would never purchase an old doll. I always think of Chucky & now this movie The Conjuring.....Now if it was a used teddybear like the movie Ted that'd be fun & cool! icon_smile.gif .....

Some horror movies can be entertaining, but why do people always assume supernatural experiences are evil and/or scary? A friend of mine has twice stayed with me at my grandparents old house in England and both times has had inexplicable but entirely harmless encounters. I wish I could have had them too. I suspect that religion may be responsible for this mindset just as it has brainwashed people in so many ways.
