Unfortunately, the forum doesn't support a poll-type thread but it is my _belief_ that the majority of gay men are indeed single. So are you single, or committed?

I'm committed for 3.5+ years now

Are those the only two options? Think creatively, act appropriately.

Is this another "let's humiliate people who aren't as lucky as me" threads?

Using the advanced search on RJ, 70K guys report being single and 20K report not being single. So that's 78% single.

Most useful post! It would be interesting to compare that to straight and/or lesbians as well. My "hypothesis" is that the highest ratio of singles to committed relationships are in the gay male community.

It probably differs greatly with different ages. Lots of young guys are single because they haven't wanted to settle down with someone. For the generation of gays who were active in the 70's and 80's, of those still alive, a lot of guys may have been "widowed." And just possibly, guys on RJ, with all its sexy pics, may not be very representative of gaylife in general.

THIS! I tend to think that many of the things seen as specifically "gay" (clubs, websites, etc.) tend to cater more towards those that are single. There are obviously exceptions, of course. But I suspect that people who enter an LTR (especially if it is one they expect to make a life-partnership out of) are less likely to show up in bars or online etc. where there is an emphasis on dating to one degree or another.

Also, I am single. I'd like a relationship, but I'm not willing to settle in order to get one.
