She and Louise Fletcher and Karen Black all had that "don't fuck with me I'll mess you up" look in their eyes. icon_eek.gif

    Great actress. RIP

What a wonderful woman (we had the good fortune to meet her), and oh, how she entertained us with her wit, as it channeled her wonderful spirit, each and every moment she was on screen. And in person she radiated LIFE. RIP Verla. You'll be missed by many.

    P.S.

I talked to Alan Sues a few years before he died. Funny as hell.

Wow, he seems like he was a funny guy, especially as Uncle Al. Only serious TV role I ever saw him in was the Twilight Zone episode "The Masks".

Wish I could figure out a way to upload "Ribbons Down My Back" from "Hello, Dolly!" - written by Jerry Herman, Eileen Brennan introduced this song on Broadway with an achingly beautiful, bittersweet performance that was captured on the cast album that sold millions of copies (and that most of us grew up with).

Come to think of it, most every guy reading this particular thread probably has this record in his collection - put it on and remember for a moment the talent and beauty of this lovely artist. May she rest in peace.
