Ask them if they have the "Judy at Carnegie Hall" album.

I think my friend is gay. He asked me if I had a girlfriend and I told him no. Then I said, "why did you ask" and he replied "no reason." I thought to myself, was he interested in me? I checked his Facebook and I found out he has a Mandoana as his wall paper and she's a gay icon. So I really thought he's gay and now that I've thought about it, he hasn't talked about girls before. Of course, he can deny everything about this and pretend he's not gay. I would need hardcore proof if I were to ever prove somebody's sexuality. Physical evidence is useful such as porn magazines or a love note to a male lover. I believe most gay people have gay porn on their computer and I can look up his internet history and check for gay porn. All of this seems extremely unnecessarily though and I can just straight up ask people. If they're gay but say no, they don't want to come out of the closet and it's better to wait for them to come out willingly instead of "convicting" them.

List a few bars and include a gay one. If he's heard of it, he might be gay.

Watch his eyes. If he looks at guys instead of girls, he's gay.

Why are you so curious? Do you have the hots for him and want to have sex? Probably best to MYOB. Not every one wants to advertise their sexual preference. icon_neutral.gif

I guess the eye movement thing sounds reasonable.

And I wanted to add that I believe I want to add three methods in proving somebody is gay. And it's

    1. If they admit to being gay
    2. Somebody saw them do something gay like going to a gay bath house or they made out with a gay at a party(second person testimony).
    3. Physical evidence

pretty much as if it were a court case

I guess if you want to know if somebody is gay, then the best thing to do is ask them if you really want to know that badly and risk damaging the friendship / relationship you have with them.

he's right. icon_cry.gif it's all about the eyes.

one thing that i have to say from experience in terms of being closeted is that if someone is a BIG closet case and i mean a REALLY big closet case, eventually, they're gonna crack. i don't agree with the whole "getting a guy to admit that he's gay" shit at all. the guilt from inside and the pressure coming from other gay men such as yourself where you basically know and are trying to force it out of that guy, will make that person eventually admit it. there is NO pleasure in being outed.

with that said, let your friend deal with it on his own. if he is gay, he'll eventually come out.

why did you put a frowny face for it being all about the eyes?

also, there is a big difference between interrogating someone and making them uncomfortable, and encouraging them to open up in a way that lets them know you accept them. there is nothing negative about that. I would much rather someone "force" me to tell them via subtle hints, rather than eternally wonder if they would accept until the end of my days. Peer pressure can be good. I love it when people let me know "hey, you're safe with me." in a mostly nonverbal way that allows me to say nothing or say something if I so choose. It's great for people to provide that opportunity and it makes it easier to know if I am among gay-friendly people or not.

Get some papermache. Build a volcano. Fill it with vinegar and baking soda. If he is too busy sucking a cock to notice the explosion, he is gay.

Good grief! Whatever happened to just ASKING him? If he answers, no, reply that's fine.
If he answers yes, say, "Cool, me too" and see where things go.

For me when I look at random people its all about the eyes, gay guys search people out and if you lock eyes for even just about less than a minute I automatically assume he is gay ... I think

my eyes will stay on a guy I find attractive for about 3x as long as it would for a girl or an unattractive guy.

    1) They look at you a lot
    2) They wear nice clothes

I like to pretend #2 refers to mostly gay men than metrosexual icon_lol.gif

What if they made out with a straight guy at a party (or with a guy of unknown orientation?

If you were interested in him, you could have answered: "No; I'm gay."
If you weren't interested in him, why did you care what he was?
