Why do you think Rome eradicated most Christian sects? They also believed Jesus survived, was married to Mary, had twelve kids, was born from Joseph's loins ahem... and that they lived happily ever after in France... and o yes, that there were not One God, but Two Gods, good and evil... and that the Jewish God from the Old Testament was the evil one, not the good one.

The early church was very diverse... Rome killed it... they wanted an empire of mental slaves.

Hey, Louie! How's this for a headline:

Twenty-year-old book panned in review comes out in digital format

Sure, Sam. Run it on page 7.

As much as I would like these to believe this marriage back then had less to do with romance and life partners and more to do with procreation and power.

So what are we really talking about here? Back 200 years ago marriage was no different than animal husbandry.

It was a rare thing that you chose your betrothed, even for royalty.

So as far as I am concerned modern marriage began about 100 years ago and has evolved.

In my opinion you cannot use the past to reject gay marriage, you cannot use the past for it.
