Is it a male who embodies feminine traits like gentleness and kindness? What is it in your opinion?

I dont believe those are condidered feminine traits - especially since women are not kinder than men by any means.

Straight Liberals love feminine gay men and butch lesbian women because then its easy for straights to know whose gay.

A majority of straight liberals are actually uncomfortable when they find out a masculine man or feminine woman is gay.

That's usually when the whispering and closet comments start.

Look at TV and movies which are all made by straight liberals. There are virtually no masculine gay men or feminine gay women shown in a positive light.

I don't find this to be true at all. Also, how can closet comments start if people know the person is gay?

You don't realize it because you're part of the "ME" generation and self involved.

Um...okay... I have not experienced any "straight liberals" feeling uncomfortable around me, nor have I gotten "whispering and closet comments." No one cares that I'm gay.

You can shove your generation comment.

I always like to tell this story of how whenever I walk down the street, I get stopped by your typically pack of handsome straight men that compliment me on my physique and how handsome I look, then start to feel me up, and as soon as I intimate that I do enjoy them touching me up, they immediately protest that '...DON'T BE SO GAY ABOUT IT!'. Then as soon as I protest that '...but I am gay!', u can see the bewildered look on their face, incomprehension at how a goodlooking masculine bloke could possibly gay. And this has happened to me not just in the UK, but also in France and GERMANY, AND IN PUBLIC!!!

It's those sort of situation that infuriate me about the notion that all gay men must be sissies because a group of queens have commandeered the gay identity. It is monstruous that we have come to be caricatured as half men in this day and age. It's a sad indictment of where we are.

Str8 people are really only TOLERATING US not accepting us, YET I DO VEHEMENTLY BELIEVE that if more gay men were str8 and masculine, most str8 men wouldn't give a shit, because at first they see me as a friend, and after I divulge I am gay, they still wanna be friends, and typically we always swap numbers, but if I were ur camp little queen, I know some blokes I've chatted up in the street or supermarkets would never ever have contemplated swapping numbers wiv me, they'd think 'freak, dont come near!'. It's really not good for our community to be represented by rehensible personas. We need to do more to incite young gays NOT TO BE FEM AND CAMP and to focus on other things like sports, studies, apprenticeship, rather than be camping it up!

Jesus. So the gay guys have to change who they are, not the homophobic ignoramuses.... Come on.

Feminine men, that type of feminine men, are the scourge of the gay community, for a myriad of reasons.

This is one of the worst things I have ever read on this site. AIDS is a scourge of the gay community; intolerance is a scourge of the gay community; discrimination is a scourge of the gay community. It takes all kinds of people to make the world go round and it was the campy drag queens at Stonewall who first stood up to the police.

Those of you who agree with the above statement ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

Stonewall was in the USA. Other countries are miles ahead of the US regarding gay rights cough canada cough. No point bandying stonewall about.

    I second this.

Feminine men, that type of feminine men, are the scourge of the gay community, for a myriad of reasons.

For one they make the myth of the sissy gay man perdure. They ostensibly force gay men to confine themselves to 'appropriate' mediums of dating instead of construing any situation as a dating opportunity. I actually casually approach guys in supermarkets, the street when walking home, the park when running, the gym, simply because str8 men see all those situations as a dating opportunity, but gay men at the moment don't because the prevalent assumption is always if a man looks masc he must str8, and this is because of fem guys, who pradoxically LIKE MASC GUYS, WHAT THE FUCK GIVES?!?!? They foster a climate of shame and fear for the young gay youth which at the moment has no real hard man masc gay role model to look up to on TV, and would not want affiliations with a gay scene filled with a cornucopia of halfmen adorning more fem traits than anything resembling a man.

I prefer fem guys! There are a few masc guys I like, but the ones who act like you repulse me. No offense!!!icon_smile.gif

    As it's said
Sex is acquired & gender is learned behavior.
If anyone judges either, it's because they were taught to judge though they're not aware of it.
Once you discover this, you'll know what is what!

So I adopt a controversial position, and u dont like it because u consider my comments egregious. But Im not vilipending anyone. I do want to foster that conversation about gay role models, and I do believe we should stop the nonsense of laissez faire and refocus a bit more on what it does really mean to be gay, being into MEN, real masculine men, not HALFMEN!

Are you calling me a half-man?

Bullshit! You said fem guys are halfmen. That's idiotic. I may have fem traits, but I have no tits or pussy. My body is ALL man. You're the one trying to change people, which is what a nagging wife would do. Ha ha.

I don't think the trans community likes being called half-men.

    Yay!!
    This is just priceless!

... Gays dissecting, denouncing and demeaning other gays!!

Oh yeah.. At the end of the day.. we will face our highest officials, look them in the eyes and tell them..

    "We deserve acceptance"
    "Accept us for being different"
    "Different does not necessarily mean..Bad"

    So sad.. icon_sad.gif

That's a rude response to a perfectly good question.
I think closeted comments mean private conversations they don't want the openly gay person to hear.

I'm just trying to stand up for fem guys. I really don't care if it's against trolls or tools. I get sick of the misogyny and the guys who want everyone to act a certain way, or think fem guys need to change.

It's all in the mannerisms and a guy talks. It's not how high/low his voice is, or if he's skinny/muscular or if he's into cooking/fashion vs sports/outdoors...we all know too many exceptions to make any of these an absolute that sticks. Most truly masculine guys exhibit some "feminine" traits or interests.

How a guy walks, carries himself and inflects his voice make him masculine/feminine. And these are learned, can be modified in any direction at any age, including full on adult.
