I'm not kidding! Someone from a Medical school told me that some vitamins are taken rectally because they aren't broken down the same as when you take them orally. I've since lost contact with my friend and thought that this was the place to ask.

This is a bad, bad no good idea.

First, vitamins are not made to be taken rectally. If they are, they are called suppositories. Vitamins are hard things. They need your stomach to break them down into little, absorbable chunks. But cramming a whole one up there, what is the point?

Look, it isn't like people who take vitamins are vitamin deficient and so have to lodge one up their ass to increase its absorbability. Just swallow the damn thing and leave room in your butt for other things.

Some are made and abosorbed in the intestines and colon (you can get a buz from a coffee enema for example), so some poeple might benefit from a supository/vitamin comdo - but I would only do it under doctors orders and if I had a real, diagnoses deficiancy.
