Ok. So, I have to say it. Australian guys with their accents (it's an accent to me, being all american and what have you) are so hot. Actually, I love pretty much any accent. If english if your second language, you've pretty much got my attention. (But I have a soft spot for Australian).

But, it begs the question. Do guys of other countries find any attraction at all to the traditional american accent? I'm not talking about those gifted with our southern twang, but just the average, run of the mill american accent. Or, do we just sound like a bunch of chickens? (I heard somebody say that about americans once).

Hate to say it, but yes. icon_lol.gif It's definitely missing the distinctive characteristics of other English accents. When I hear it, all I can think of is the suburbia. Wonder why. icon_wink.gif

The southern twang is mmmm though. icon_razz.gif

unfortunately no... at least not the every day sort of accent..

That southern accents are okish, it doesn't grab me too much..

Actually the american accent I do like (well, its not so much the accent but the voice) the big blue monster outta monsters inc, I love his voice, its just the sorta voice you wanna hear when you fall over and scrap your knee and your about a inch from crying, its very soothing, I have a mate in the US who has it icon_smile.gif

Actually I don't know which sort of American accent it is, but GobB has a hot accent he'd have to tell you if its typical though.

but it does depend on the guy though, so, your hot Phoenix regardless of your accent.

Ok, I'll jump anyone's bones who has the following: Any sort of North American accent (ranging from the deep south all the way to canada), South African, Aussie and kiwi.

I think I have a thing for accents... like a serious THING!

I was in a teleconference this afternoon which was being chaired by a guy with the most sexy North American accent... he had a perfect low pitched US twang going on.

I can't but help wonder what he looks like...

Canadians don't have an accent, but everybody else does! icon_razz.gif

I love Irish, English, Scottish, Australian and New Zealander accents. To be honest I can't tell the Aussie and Kiwi accents apart, which pisses off the Kiwis!

I'm really curious about this too. What do international people think of a not-to-surf-bum West coast accent? Like say how Brad Pitt talks (not the way he looks!) in that assassin movie with Angelina Jolie. Coz I think that's how I talk, except I add in a lot of "totallys" and a couple of "right ons." Also, how does this accent sound ... hmm .. although I guess the only way I could describe a Southern or Australian or European accent is "cute" icon_razz.gif

I don't think anyone outside the US has ever commented on my accent or voice. I've had the usual 'you don't have a New York accent' comment, though.

Being American is sexy. Nothing special about the accent.

When people say they like the British accent, they only mean the posh one anyway. icon_smile.gif

American accent..Hmm, depends..I'm not too fond of the Boston and NY accents but overall I think the american accent is nice.

If you really like australian accent you should watch the original Kath and Kim icon_lol.gif

Actually no, I hate the posh British accent. icon_razz.gif It kinda has that affected air to it, like it's fake. I much prefer the gritty street accents and whatnot. Some of my coworkers are british and I love hearing their accents. I dunno but it reminds me of pirates. 'Yarr matey' kinda thing. icon_lol.gif

I was in the US and Canada earlier this year, I was asked to repeat myself constantly, was beginning to think I was speaking a language other than English. And then there was the guy in Vancouver who couldn't place my 'southern accent'.

    Pickle me grandmother.

Being a True Blue Aussie six generations born to Oz. I don't have an Australian accent, but an Aussie one.

Being many generations born to Oz, and growing up on a farm, and not being a city kid, or a townie, nor an Australian. My accent is stronger than many.

I find it amusing when In America, many have no idia what I'm saying.

My American husbands accent does nothing for me at all. But My Russian Husbands accent drive me crazy. Love hearing him call my name.
