How should older gays dress?

I'm 68, have always been a T-shirt and jeans type of guy. Tell me, my brothers, what should I wear to catch your eye?

Wear what you feel comfortable in. Jeans and a T-Shirt, nothing wrong with that.

polo shirts, chinos, button front shirts. Nothing too wild, or trendy, just simple and modern. Nothing from 25 years ago either. No matter how cool it once looked. No sweats, logo's, tanks, teva sandals with socks or Crocs. Ever!!
You can wear what most (younger) men wear these days, just 'toned' down and age appropriate.

    Good luck..

It's not so much what you wear as how it fits 'you' and how you look in it.

Generally, graphic Ts are out (exceptions for truly great ones like the GWAR one I'm wearing). Basic black never goes out of style. If you have a butt, show it off. If you're neck is goosey, buttoned up shirt w/ tie, turtle or mock-turtle is the way to go. I personally like shawl sweaters.

Now that I'm 60 I feel that I should be wearing shirts like this. For pants, the ones that have an elastic waist, polyester; plaid, of course. Instead, I keep wearing the same old stuff; 501 Levis and short sleeve shirts or t-shirts.

Stick with what you like, but try to make sure they look classic but modern. Don't wear 30 year old reverse fit acid wash jeans, as an example.

Thank god you know better. I've seen how you dress, Lumpy, and you look fine. Just be careful with those funny crocheted hats.

I keep trying to think of something even more revolting that this hat; maybe pink, with 3 purple and green spherical pom poms on top.

Banana Republic has many styles that can be worn by older men. They have many that are not appropriate but you should be able to have their sales people help you. Don't try to look like the latest model but instead look stylish in a conservative way.

(Having a Déjà vu here, did we have this conversation in person??) Yeah, pink, purple and green. You'd look like a tall, skinny lesbian. ETA: With a 10 o'clock shadow.

Old men can wear whatever the fuck they want. Now if you care about what other people's impressions may be, like "omg he thinks he is 18!" or "omg that is so inappropriate for his age" then avoid:

    - Everthing from Abercrombie/Hollister
    - Everything from American Eagle
    - White flip flops
    - T-shirts that are too tight to the body
    - Skinny jeans
    - V Necks
    - Jean shorts
    - Shorts that are too tight
    - White plastic watches
    - Fluorescent colors or extremely bright colors on anything you are wearing.

These are usually things associated with fasion for younger guys. Now dont dress like a 68 year old would be expected to dress either, you can still look hot without looking like you are desperate to hide your age. I think these ideas would look really good on older men.
